You know I just do not know what is going on with Ford, Chevy had a great quarter.

You know I see comments from him about changing the reliability, execution and perception of Ford.

I was just watching a video from Inside Edition and the new Ranger seems to have issues to the point of lemons already. They are doing nothing about it for these people either. You know how you change the perceptions take care of peoples issues. Do not wait till they go to the news to take care of it. You know issues happen but it is how you take care of them that matters. I actually have seen a few videos from people with the new Ranger also having issues. You know how you transform a company, by actually doing it and not just saying it.

These stupid botched launches.

I am not really loyal to any car company I like to try different trucks when it comes time to buy. Most of my vehicles have been Fords. I was leaning towards the Next Ranger but I am loosing confidence in this company.

I agree and am not really brand loyal as well. If I find something I like and it fits my needs then that is what I get.

Great points. Unfortunately, it seems these days that the "message" (saying it) is more important than the actual execution (actually doing it). I have a feeling it starts with the "perception is reality", which is very true, but at some point you actually have to DO what you SAY you are going to do. It's called integrity, and it is sorely lacking in so many areas these days. IMO, it is how you build trust, which is the foundation for so many things.

I hope Farley can bring some of that back to Ford. I subscribe to the "if you treat your employees well, they will take care of the customer" mantra - maybe if they funnelled some of that exhorbitant executive pay down to the people who actually do the work, and then actually LISTENED to them, things would improve. Just my armchair quarterbacking opinion....

It is called Walk the Talk. Sadly lacking at Ford right now... Dissension on going Electric is rampant in Engineering. When not in lock step with the CEO...things deteriorate. Jaques Nassar was an example in that folks hated him so much. Bill Ford finally had had enough and fired him. Seems the rank and file are not with his Talk and refuse to Walk the Talk. So it can be forced fed to them...resulting in the good folks leaving.

Very sad situation at Ford. When Nassar was fired, there were quite a few celebrations a TGI Fridays.

Best,
Phil

Yea but for me Ford is a American company and I want to see them do well. I mean it is a iconic American company and symbolizes America.

I completely agree with Phil's post.

I do not always trust what I see on YouTube but I have seen a few like this now on the new Ranger.
Sure hope Ford fixes the issue before launching in the USA.

I can't find a link or video but Jim Farley was on Fox & Friends this morning.
Talking about "onshoring" chips and raw materials due to supply chain issues.
Made the point that even if lithium is mined elsewhere almost all the batteries are made in China.

We were celebrating at the dealership as well, but unfortunately the damage was already done!

My cousin owns a repair shop and used car lot and he advises not to buy a 2021-22-23 anything from anyone because of the chips and supply chain issues they're all going to have problems.
He bought a new 2021 Silverado himself and got a whole new engine under warranty at 13,000 miles.

Hi S,

I retired in 2002 when Ranger volumes were about 340,000 per year. Good solid truck! I sit on the sidelines now... From time to time I have had calls to come back to work as a supplemental employee. I have elected to stay retired, and with looming serious medical problems, I do not know how long I will be around if they continue to develop so want to enjoy what time I have left on this planet. Oh and in my next life, I do not want to be a Ranger Shackle Bracket either...

Best,
Phil

And he announced Ford is returning to Formula One racing to target a more EV friendly audience. I guess NASCAR wont “git’er done“ when it comes to growing the EV market.
