It's the bump stop plate. It is worth my time to re use it. If you didn't that's cool.
There is no need for it. Better yet it will take away travel believe it or not. The Old Man EMU leafs are thicker(more leafs in a pack will do that) compared to the Factory leafs. The only thing that needs to be swapped is the 1/4 inch spacer on the drivers side. You may have to grind the little nub down as well. The plate up top is part of the factory leaf and will not swap over.

I'm wondering what you think of ARB re-installing it. I don't care if I lose 1/4 inch of travel. You shouldn't either.

Got the springs together just to see the difference in size. Started working on the passenger side.

Removed the bump stop plate from the factory spring. As you can see you just need a couple clamps if you choose to do this step. I ended up torquing the bolt at 65 ft lbs.

Started on the passenger side. Here is where the fun begins. The rear grease able shackles are a PITA. Took over an hour (PS only) to install them, which is crazy. The bushings would just not come together with the bolts in them. They would off the truck. The tolerances are very tight. Lying on your back the whole time makes it tough.

In the end it got done. I'd like to think the DS will go better.

The next step were the U bolts. They went on great. No problems. Torqued them down to 26 FT lbs.

Here is where some directions would come in handy. The front spring mount will NOT just fall into place. It took a few minutes to figure out why. The DS spring HAS to come out, or you can let it hang only by the rear shackles. You'll need to use a jack under the pumpkin to get it just right. Spring installed!

Your U-bolt at 26 ft-lbs sounds way too low. You're supposed to follow a pattern and torque them in order a few times up to like 80-something (based on memory which may be faulty).

On to the DS! Good grief what a shit show!

The first photo just shows the factory shim. Which 99% of rangers now have.

Correct. But, only when there is a load on everything. When the wheels are on the ground.

OME might have dropped the ball here. They do not account for it in this kit. Here's why.

The pin is too short and doesn't account for the factory shim.

You have a couple of choices. Go without the shim (I chose not to) or make a spacer for the thickness. I was lucky and had an old roll pin that fit perfect after I took a hacksaw to it.

Lastly for today I decided not to grind off the little tit the centers the factory shim on the spring pack. I drilled a hole instead. Came out good enough. IMO.

The rest of the DS will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm beat.

Although there doesn't appear to be a tone of interest in this sort of write-up w/photos. I'm going to finish it off anyway. Mainly because there isn't a ton of info with photos on this site. That and MAYBE It will help one or two thinking about doing this install.

The DS went mush better after the short comings I addressed earlier. The shackles/bushings go together better If you do both sides equally and at the same time. Also leave the grease zerks off if only to let air escape while trying to squeeze (nut on each side ) everything together.

You'll have to jockey around the front frame mount bushing a little, but it will go. Extra set of hands will go along way here. Mainly on the jack and to stand on the spring itself. DS DONE!

I did take some "after" measurements. They are EXACTLY the lift promised by, Old Man EMU. Floor to wheel well and top of center cap to wheel well. PS first.

I'll add, from the floor to the very top of the bed is 4' 9" or 57"!

PS from floor 41.5 inches.jpg

PS top of center cap to wheel well 24.5 inches.jpg
