This will show up if you call roadside assistance from your F150 Lightning…

That, and these guys:

I’d love to have a study on tire wear on evs vs ice. I strongly dislike evs for the reason they have become politically a pawn, along with the fact that they are nowhere near ready for wide scale use. ( including the foil hat stuff and the myriad of other issues)With tires specifically on evs having instant torque I imagine they last 3/4 as long on the same tire on an ice vehicle.
This guy at Engineering Explained has good explanations on all things car related.

I am surprised it took this long to say something. Seems they have been talking about the size of trucks and suv's causing more injuries to occupants of small cars for a while. This is only going to make it worse.
Give the lady a raise - she is only currently getting paid $168k a year. So did she propose any kind of a solution, even if it's as extreme as outlawing EVs or outlawing sale of any vehicle under 5000lbs . Maybe Congress needs to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of her claims, provide the NHTSA with more funding to crash some of the beastly Hummers into smaller minis, mazdas civic and mitsus and raise her salary for enlightening us.
Like a number of politcos in DC - they love to hear themselves talk , me I'll stick to posting on here.

And don't forget all of the toxic pollutants from the lith-ion batteries going into the water with electric currents killing all the carp and if they ignite will make the Cuyahoga River look like a day at the beach. This also happened in Buffalo NY and burnt the hell out of one the bridges, ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for the worst.

The Cuyahoga River Caught Fire at Least a Dozen Times, but No One Cared Until 1969
Despite being much smaller than previous fires, the river blaze in Cleveland 50 years ago became a symbol for the nascent environmental movement

Never understood why Cleveland got all the notoriety , I used to ride the bus to school over this river and found the pink, green and red hues floating on the surface strangely alluring, but when it burnt the hell out of the bridge - the detour cause the bus ride to be 15 minutes longer and I sometimes missed the 1st few minutes of the 3 stooges. My brother for a while worked nights at the National Aniline Dye plant on this river and you could tell on his bedsheet what color dye line he worked on, me I only toiled summers in the steel plant , enjoying the benefits of a myriad of toxic substances, coke ovens arguable the worst.

From Burning River to Catalyst for Economic Revival – The Buffalo River Story
Buffalo, New York — like Detroit and Cleveland — was a leader in the 19th century’s Industrial Revolution and made the Buffalo River its backdoor.

The Buffalo River was viewed as a working river that supported industry and commerce, and water pollution then was viewed as just part of the cost of doing business. At that time, people cared most about jobs and providing for their families, with little concern for the environment and its pollution.

There is, perhaps, no more poignant example of this societal indifference to water pollution than when the Buffalo River caught on fire 50 years ago after sparks from a workman’s torch ignited oil floating on the river under the South Park Lift Bridge in Buffalo.

So basically I'm not impressed by the lith-ion toxic pollution stuff, I've lived through far worse and look at the man it has made me today !

I guess we can look at it as a tractor trailer now going up against just about any vehicle on the road now. Except (like you said) the new EV's are much faster and you'll have all this mass impacting that smaller vehicle. How has no one brought this up until now?
Not sure, but it is definitely an increased risk. I hadn’t even thought about the stress to bridges and parking structures until this thread. Just found this article too, never heard of this site but sounds credible. https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2022/09...ventional-cars-says-global-insurance-company/

Ok so..

Everyone needs to STFU about how fast EVs accelerate and shit or else the goddamn government is going to regulate their 0-60 times lol.
It's the manufactures that are saying that to boost interest. As in "another way that EV's are better than ICE"
