Has anyone successfully turned off the chimes on a 22 XLT?I have tried with forscan, and forscan shows them turned off yet they keep annoying me.
I have also tried to turn off the seatbelt chime via instructions in the manual. it gives confirmation that it worked yet insert and turn key on without the seatbelt fastened and the chimes sound off. please help!

From the ford service manual

Preparation

1. Apply the parking brake.

2. Place the transmission selector lever in P (Park) - vehicles with automatic transmission or the neutral position - vehicles with manual transmission.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

4. Close all the vehicle doors from the inside of the vehicle.

Deactivating/Activating

NOTE: Deactivation of the belt minder may also be carried out using IDS. Follow the instructions on the screen.

NOTE: The belt minder can be turned off independently for the driver and the front passenger by performing the following procedure.

1. Unbuckle the driver's safety belt.

2. Unbuckle the front passenger's safety belt.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start the engine).

4. Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off.

5. NOTE: This step must be completed within 30 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.

Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt four times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. Release the red unbuckle switch completely every cycle.

6. The safety belt warning indicator flashes momentarily to confirm the belt minder status change.

7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. The deactivation/activation procedure is now complete.

Did that got the indicator from the dash that is turned off. Yet it's working. The instructions in my owners manual are a lil different. States buckle and unbuckle 3 times wait for light to come on them buckle and unbuckle with light on. Then light flashes for indicator. It all did exactly as the manual states with the exception of still chimes.

When all else fails the dummy clip left in the coupler works like a charm

I wear my seatbelt. I just don't put it on till after I have started the vehicle. So really want to silence the chimes.

Yes I went into the ipc module, I tried on the easy section, that didn't work so I entered the numerical options, still have annoying chimes.

Huh, weird. Turned mine off right away. ('22 Lariat) Wish I could be more helpful except to say it worked for me.

I have the same selections on mine, yet I still get chimes if I start the vehicle without the seatbelt on. if i put the seatbelt on then start the truck, no chime. So it's not taking it on mine. Build date of 5/22

I've successfully removed them from my mustang, and I'm a retired auto tech that specialized in drivability I've flashed just a few programs in my lifetime.

Just to point out the truck has 2 systems for the seat belt chimes:

1. Seatbelt Chime Warning
2. Belt Minder - This is for My Key Programming aka (Teen Driver-Programing)
Belt Minder activates when vehicle speed is over 6 MPH
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ref: The deactivation procedure posted above, are you doing both DR & Pass at the same time, if so, it must be done separately

Note: This step does not say both sides
Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt four times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. Release the red unbuckle switch completely every cycle.

Note: The Procedure above is from the service manual, and it does conflict with the owner's manual (3 times vs 4 times) I would try the Service Manual Version if you used the owner's manual version did you pay attention to the step 3 vs step 4 - see attached
You are reactivating it, by your posted steps - STOP @ step 3 to deactivate it
see service manuals attached along with owner's manual
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not played with this, but there is a setting for seatbelts in the IPC:
Vehicle - Settings - Seatbelt
You may be able to configure here, or this is what is not letting you change the Belt Minder
Deactivate
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using the FORscan Wiki settings (pg 1) - Try going into (As-Built) and setting:

Disable Seatbelt Chimes & Minder

IPC - 720-01-01
From: 2F0F-1464-7251 To: XXXX-XX0X-XXXX - This will do both Dr & Pass
If you do it the GUI (Easy Way) it appears you have to do each separately

I turned my chimes off in FORscan but it took two attempts, either I missed something or it didn’t compute.
