Sport mode issue

I can't seem to use SPORT Mode. When it SPORT MODE it doesn't feel like it wants to shift. I've used it maybe 5 times in the past 2 years because of this.

Today I tried it and it took the truck to redline, doesn't matter if I have a heavy or light foot. In Drive it shifts fine.

Then after work I though I would try it again... Nope, 7,000 RPM the tach showed, which is 1000 over the redline. I did an OH SHIT as I took my foot off the gas and popped it into drive. So these motors have no overrev limit either? I haven't had a vehicle without a rev limiter since high school (yes I am old). Weird!

You are hitting the +/- button.

Simply move the lever to S without pushing them. It will shift.

These trucks DO have an electronic Rev limiter.

lol I did the same the first time I used S mode. I must of hit the =/- by accident and it went right up to red line. I'm yelling SHIFT and finally realized it was my dumb mistake. Like Doug said as long as you don't touch the +/- it will shift by itself and if you hit them and want to get out of manual mode just press and hold it and it'll return auto shift.

No sweat.

The process is not super-intuitive so it takes a bit of playing to get it straight.

Glad it was that instead of a broken truck!

It's a tough job trying to push up to that line without getting banned.
