Recently the heat stopped coming from the face vents while the heater is in Auto mode. Heat comes from windshield vent and from the floor vent. I'm pretty sure it used to come from the face vent also. I'm sure there is a thread for this but couldn't find it. Not really sure what to be asking in the search bar. Oh ya, the other day my wife changed the passenger side (dual zone) up a couple degrees and passenger side went cool and the driver side was really hot. I shut the truck off and restarted it and it seamed fine but now it's not.
Please help.

Use FORscan and check for any codes (B) Body codes, and reset system, or try putting in manual and driving each side Full hot and cold, cycle through all modes Floor,Vent,Defrost and cycle recert door - note operation and pay attention to any clicking noise, to pin-point issue
The module you are looking for in FORscan is the FCIM, this controls Climate Control

Wow mine just did the same yesterday. Annie said she's getting cold air from her side and mine was really hot. When I changed the temp on my side it didn't seem to make any difference it was still hot. I played around with all the setting and all of a sudden the passengers side came back to hot. Of course when I reset the setting it's cools again and mine is super hot. I did try the ac mode and both sides work normal.

I did have the actuator break on my side (back in May) and now I manually change it over. There was no grinding or clicking going on the passengers side so this is a mystery for sure.

I also noticed my radio functions were acting up once in a while too. I couldn't change the channel from any of the functions so it was stuck on one station. The songs would change but the first song was still showing on the screen. Once I shut the truck off it went back to normal, this has happened twice in the past month. I'm going to try disconnecting the battery and seeing if this helps reset things. If that dissent work I'll be looking into an exorcism.

Azscorpion one morning I started the truck with the Ford pass app like normal . I put the key in turn it on pulled out of the garage drove for a couple miles and went to adjust the heat by pushing the climate but on the screen and the climate screen came up but it was nonfunctional. There was all the boxes but everything was gray with no words or numbers. Again I shut off the truck and restarted and it went back to normal. This was about a week or two before . Not sure what's up. I did just get a sync update recently

It works fine if I manually turn on the face vent but then the window slowly fogs up then I have to change it back to window vent. Ill try all the manual cycles like you suggested though.

When my audio was frozen my screen looked normal but I couldn't use any of the functions. Now the others worked like the climate and the nav it was just the audio that was froze up. Even the knob for the radio didn't work it would just stay on that one station with the first song frozen on the screen.

The climate is the one that's strange. I went through every function and only that one time it came back on the passengers side. Once I changed it it went back to cold. Not freezing cold like ac but cool air blowing out. Hopefully disconnecting the battery resets everything.

Auto mode is crap. I've just set it up so that the airflow is legs & face only, fan i keep on automatic. If the windshield starts to fog up I just put the windshield electric heating wires on.

Sorry i cant add to a solution here

Windows has to be the software being used because i get glitches on a weekly basis with the infotainment screen. Nothing with climate control yet. Its annoying and fixes itself once i turn the truck off and come back and start it again.

I have climate control on my TC ( but not on my Ranger.
Anyway, I found that If It fails to cooperate or sync both sides, I simply shut the Temperature control completely off then turn it back on and choose desired settings

Sync3 has no Microsoft/Windows software. It runs on QNX….

Auto mode makes the determination which vents to use. So, based on the current temperature setting, and the difference between the actual temperature inside and outside, you may or may not get air out of the face vents.

That's what I was hoping was wrong. But when I turned it off the passengers face vent was still blowing cool air and mine was very hot. Even while in Auto mode I turned my side down to low and the other to high, got the same results so somethings off. No matter what I set the temp to on the drivers side it's stuck on high.

May be time to bite the bullet and get that heater box replaced.
