You’re too kind, AZ. :giggle:
See you're such a good sport about it that it makes it that much more fun. ? Just like Paul is too but deep down I think he really likes it a little to much. ?

I can't tell you how many times I wanted to do that when I drove OTR.

I think the data represent per capita. I can say as far as Iowa goes, their winter compounds crashes & spinouts. Although improving somewhat over the last ten years, their plowing/salt/sanding lags behind other snowbelt states. Illinois is one of the best, but one of the maxims for Chicagoland is, "If your'e getting over 15 miles per gallon, You're too slow." My own Sconnie surprises me; I didn't think one could get up enough speed between taverns to kill anybody.

Back in da day, so I heard, no first hand knowledge here officer, on a mystery highway in an unknown state ;)... convoy of about 9-10 rigs. Very heavy traffic. All rigs in right lane. Ground to the right of the highway was pretty level. Keep that in mind. Anyway, one car in particular was a complete asshole. Zigzagging between lanes, cutting in front of trucks all to pass one car at a time. Pretty soon the rigs starting tightening up to prevent this clown from cutting into the right lane. Clown finally managed to cut in between two rigs, give the rear rig the finger and then proceeded to move onto the shoulder to start passing on the right. Quick shout on the CB and wouldn't you know it. Rig farther up the line waited for the appropriate time and started, no doubt accidently, drifting to the right. Last I saw, I mean heard, was that car bouncing out through the grass, dirt and dust flying, trunk popped open (not sure what that was about) and laughter. Definitely on my part. And based on the CB chatter laughter in many cabs.

Adding Tennessee to the list.

Most common road rules:
1. Someone behind you: Go slow.
2. Person behind you starts to pass: Speed up.
3. You pass someone but then encounter a hill: slow down.
4. You've just been passed but now you are going down hill: speed up and pass the person who just passed you. Immediately slow down at bottom of hill.
5. Turn signals: option not needed on vehicles licensed in TN.

And don't even get me started on the left lane bandits.

In the Orlando FL area, multi lane highways are to be used this way:

Posted Speed Limit 70mph
  • Right Lane 75mph,
  • Middle Lane(s) 50mph. Blue hair or faded Romney sticker 45mph. No turn signal allowed! Blinking light on the dashboard can be a distraction and cause an unsafe condition
  • Left lane 80mph, 85+mph if you need to cut across all lanes 200ft before your exit
