What's your tow bar rating? It looks a little light on compared to the stock units here.I’m ready to weld the tray to the main supports now. But first it’s supper time. I’ll work on the headboard next.

Ok ours is rated to 3500 Kg so ~7700 imperial Lb so a little bit heavier, but not much. Obviously just a different design philosophy. You don't commonly see square tow shank receivers on round tube bars here except on the "standard weight bars" which are normally ~ 1800 - 2000 Kg. Over here the Ranger comes standard with a 3500 tow bar.
Thanks man! I was just having a conversation with a veteran buddy of mine about redesigning that hitch. I wish the XBull hitches were available here in the US. I love the higher clearance and built in recovery points. So I’m going to work on my own also work in a rear winch location too.
Yes the people who owned my Ranger before me ( Grey Nomads) had replaced the standard Ford bar with an aftermarket Hayman Reese one. The HR unit has better mounting, and tucks up much higher then the stock Ford rear dozer blade unit. The silly thing is both units are made by HR! Why not just supply the better unit to Ford in the first place?
Agreed! I’ve reached out to HR about fitment to the US rangers but never got a reply back. I’m sure the mounts are different so I’m gonna make it myself. Just need to get a game plan for it.
If you don’t want to run a rear drawer I could lower it about 8”that's freakin sweet! so if I didn't want mudders, drawers, and a 6" lift, how much lower could you make the flatbed? ...asking to fix my friend's bed height defect

I’ve been welding for around 11 years. Nothing professional just screwing off in the shop. I used to repair welding machines and every time I’d fix one I would ask the welders if they would show me something that they have learned over the years. It was pretty cool.
Yes sir. I’m at the mercy of 35 year old electrical but yes I built it with the Eastwood MP140i. That thing is a champ!So you built that with a little 110v unit?

My welds with a 110v look like, well, I can't come up with a suitable bad metaphor at the moment but rest assured they suck.
ya thats true just got to jump in there my buddy has a welder and i plan to make some type of bedrack for my truck but man idk what kind i want ugh!!!! i had asked thou if i could do some of the welding so i could practice and also be proud of what i made!
