Another AVS stick on. BTW......how hard is it to get this thing off??

Some automotive adhesive remover and some plastic scrapers should persuade it to let go. I'll never remove mine unless to replace with another one.

I've never had one of these before. Was going to ask the guys that have before/after thoughts on them; you notice a difference with it on?
The stick on variety without a lip is essentially just a rock chip protector for the leading edge of the hood and thus offers no real big deflection for the windshield.

I've had the ones that attach with clips and stand off from the hood with a lip on top and they were very effective at reducing big splatter.

I might plasti-dip the whole truck at some point. Or maybe I could dip over or around it.

Can confirm I still get tons of bugs on the windshield. But I like the way it looks more.

You could always plasti-dip it, but in my experience, road debris eats up plasti-dip on those leading edges pretty quickly.

I picked up a few hood chips on my recent road trip to western NC mountains. Wondering if these are worth the investment or if they would have deflected the rocks into my windshield…

You could do the hood protector style instead of the bug deflector.

Another AVS here...flat black...textured and as far as I'm concerned looks more 'rugged' and very effective. I didn't want the traditional clip on that sits away from the hood as I felt that would be harder to clean when washing time comes.

Just my feeling about it. I found that I get less windshield mess but still some. But I prefer this than others.

Just got back from having the PDR done! He did a fantastic job! Before he started I asked how good an outcome did he thing he could get. He was pretty optimistic. Said the removing from aluminum is a bit harder work though. I asked him about the abrasion/scratch and he thought he could buff most of it out to where it would hardly be noticeable.

So it looks 99% new again! I would literally have to know exactly where the dent/scratch was and put my face 3" away to notice the little dullness where the scratch was.

Total cost $150. I have a $100 deductible on my comprehensive. The PDR guy suggested putting a hood protector on. Told him I was one step ahead of him, one is ordered. I told him I was just glad I didn't have to have any paint touch up done. He said you don't ever want to mess with factory paint if you don't have to. He said it would have meant painting the entire hood and sometimes even the fenders to blend the color match well.

He kept telling me what a pretty truck it is, really liked the color. Said his buddy just got one in Cactus Gray in a Tremor. I don't even have a fancy edition, just a XLT with the black appearance package but I do get stopped alot (at gas stations or the store ) with compliments by especially older gentlemen and asked about the color.

So I'm a happy gal this morning. My hood protector should be here tomorrow.
