Where did you make the wiring connections?
I popped the trailer plug out of the bumper. (reach under the bumper and squeeze the two metal tabs and it pops right out) Stripped about 1/4 inch of insulation off of the taillight and turn signal wires, soldered on a 4 prong trailer connector, then sealed the solder connections with liquid electrical tape, wrapped them in electrical tape then slipped them back inside of the factory loom covering and wrapped it with electrical tape. Connected the ground wire to a bolt on the underside of the bumper.

I added the other end of the 4 prong connector to the light bar wires. Plug & play, easy to disconnect if it eve becomes necessary.

The Ranger does think there is a trailer plugged in now, so I had to select the 3' setting in the dash display.

I did Forscan mods.
- Brake Calibration - worth the cost of the cable. What a difference.
- Bambi mode - I will let you know tonight if its noticeable
- Disabled Fake engine noise - cant really notice a difference
- Disabled double honk
- Enabled anti-noise - dont think that actually works in our rangers
- Enabled climate controls on lariat dash - works but cant make changes... so I turned it back off.

I'm a fan of Bambi mode.

Finally got around to busting the UCA long bolt apart and greasing the absolute piss out of the bushings...

My guess is both my buddy and I and the auto shop I took it to for alignment and investigating noise only tried greasing with the long bolt torqued and were just getting back pressure and no real grease getting in... now it's definitely in there. Quick drive and it does seem better, but it's also had good days and bad days since install. Time will tell but I'm feeling good about it now.

My bad on that... its the abs bleed operation....
I just bought the cheaper of the 2 recommended OBDII to USB cables to start messing with a few things. Bambi mode, speedo calibration, double honk. How/when does the abs bleed operation change braking response?

It bleeds it as, many believe, it was not done before leaving the factory. Are your brakes squishy?? If so, do the operation.

With my ranger, and my wife's ranger, the difference was so noticeable that I about put myself through the windshield the brakes were so much more sensitive.

The before is this: the amount of travel on the brake pedal is, in my opinion, extreme. Same with my wife's (we both have '21's). Further, it always felt like you really had to get on the brakes in order to ...brake.

After the operation, the brake pedal has very little travel and the brakes are so much more responsive.

There is a thread here somewhere about it.

Hilux, Ranger, Landcruiser,
Filed a new indexing groove so the spare tyre lock can fit ’upside down’.

Cut a big hole to fit trailer a connector.
This truch has the towing package, But I wont use RV grade connectors.
All my equipment is wired to the ’euro-japper lighting scheme and uses SAE j560 connectors.
I’ll need to determine if and how much current can be drawn from the left & right amber turn circuits.

I am going bet one but am planning to wire at the tail light. I believe that will no require the eed for fooling the trailer connected issue. If I remember correctly that is what Sid (Misfit toy) did for his lights.
