Trade Ranger for a Maverick?

Deleted member 1634

If the hybrid came in AWD then I would trade for a Maverick in a heartbeat. That's honestly probably the only reason. Much lower purchase price and operating costs (especially with the hybrid gas mileage). And thereby more bang for your buck. I don't care if it's "not a real truck". Who cares if it gets the job done and meets your needs. When they announced the Maverick Tremor I seriously considered that instead, since with the slight lift and trick rear "diff" setup you could really go a lot of places with it. Especially since, like 99.99% of people, I'm not bajaing the desert or doing the Rubicon. All the computers and a good set of tires do wonders these days. A workable amount of bed space, more spacious and modern interior (if that matters to you), better ride quality, easier to park and fit into spaces, easier to get in and out of, etc.

Man I just got everything I could do / afford to my Ranger done (see sig). I wouldn't mind downsizing and the better mileage of the hybrid.
Maybe at 5 yrs when its paid off. Interest rate is too good to pay off early!
With the hyperinflation that is going to come and it's coming trust me. You might consider paying that thing off just so you can have extra cash handy

I like the Maverick. You will likely appreciate the seat height at entry and exit. Same for the bed height with the tailgate down and when reaching in over the bedsides. The truck has a lot of utility. Of course you like your Ranger, but the Maverick is a good alternative and will likely grow on you.
Even though you own the Ranger, depreciation is depreciation. I know the market is still a little off right now. Trading in or selling the Ranger may or may not make sense.
Here Rangers are selling for right at original sticker from 2 years ago. Zero appreciation.

My wife drove the Maverick and the Ranger, she kept going back to the Ranger. I'd take the Maverick as a second truck.

If it were my house, I would keep the Ranger and my wife would keep the Santa Fe. Sell the Maverick, not the Ranger! Just my two cents, you have to do what you have to do...
Good idea cause around here Mavericks are being priced 10k over invoice.

Mavericks, along with Rangers, are very popular in my area. I’ve seen them with lifts and cool looking (having a senior moment here ) stripes & such. I would like to have one in addition to my Ranger.:)

2 fx4 Ford trucks side by side. Not sure how anyone would pick the one on the left.

Sure, I would take one "in addition to" my Ranger, just not "instead of"!

I do think they are good for people that don’t want such a large truck. They are very nice.
My Ranger seems huge to me, until I park next to most newer full sized trucks. Then it looks so little, but perfect for me & what I need it for. :)
