If the hybrid came in AWD then I would trade for a Maverick in a heartbeat. That's honestly probably the only reason. Much lower purchase price and operating costs (especially with the hybrid gas mileage). And thereby more bang for your buck. I don't care if it's "not a real truck". Who cares if it gets the job done and meets your needs. When they announced the Maverick Tremor I seriously considered that instead, since with the slight lift and trick rear "diff" setup you could really go a lot of places with it. Especially since, like 99.99% of people, I'm not bajaing the desert or doing the Rubicon. All the computers and a good set of tires do wonders these days. A workable amount of bed space, more spacious and modern interior (if that matters to you), better ride quality, easier to park and fit into spaces, easier to get in and out of, etc.
