The days of acres and acres of vehicles sitting on dealers' lots are drawing to a close. It's a NA phenomenon. EU dealer inventories are minimal, the majority of units are ordered by individuals; in Japan, spot deliveries are unheard of. All mfrs including Ford are shifting away from stocking huge numbers of units, and moving toward customer ordered vehicles. Finance and insurance costs, and the traditional model year-end fire sales are a drag on profits for the dealers as well as the mfrs. I heard that before Covid, BMW could put an EU consumer in a 3-Series in as little as 3 weeks, order to delivery.I'm glad it's delayed.....I'd rather wait and hope for the best on these prices. Sadly, it's probably going to be a number of years before dealers have stock enough on their lots to actually negotiate prices again. Right now it's name your price just about.....
