Ooooo. That Eruption Green option has me second guessing the Forged Green I have tagged incoming...
Yeah, I like the EGM more than FGM. But, neither enough to move on from my COM.

This is still the 5G, be advised.

I've seen people saying they are ordering a 2023 today, not understanding that this is still a 5G.
I believe so too. When you look at the guide on page 2, it says No changes for Mechanical, Interior/Comfort, Functional, Safety/Security and Driver Assist Tech. And no Splash editions available.

How much differant is the Canadian version ? Im aware of the daytime lights but seems silly to have 2 versions , one version has to be the wrong about something ...
Globally, Dealers contribute heavily to what options are available in what markets. There have been some package and standard equipment variances in the past besides the DRLs.

the North American 2023 Ranger is still a 5G. ROW, the 2023 is/will be rolling out as a 6G. the NA 2023 build is all but confirmed at this point to be a shortened model year and the 6G roll out as a 2024 MY in fall-winter 2023.

This looks to be an order guide for the 5g model.

“Is Ford coming out with a new Ranger?

When will the new Ford Ranger arrive? Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed the Ranger and Ranger Raptor will hit the American market in 2023. The question is whether it will be for the 2023 or 2024 model year. Ford Authority has new Ranger production beginning in May 2023, which suggests it will end up being a 2024 truck. Jul 21, 2022”
the 2023 model year is a gen 5 the 2024 model year is gen 6 unless it gets delayed then it will be like a lot of these vehicles and be a 2024 coming in 2024

I could see that globally , right hand drive and such , but Canada ? Thats just right up the road a bit , how damn different can it be ? US/Canada version should be as simple as a setting on your display ... imo...

It is also because canada has different laws and regulations so while they are very similar it is easier to have them be separate that way a canada dealer doesn't order a us one and vice versa. 2023 will still be a full length year it is launching at the right time to be so remember it is important to note start of orders and start of production are two different things ford will likely still be building vehicles when the orders drop for next year and then stop shift to the new tooling and stuff and get started, for instance the gas transit banks opened end of may scheduling began 1 month later june 30 and production begins this month on the 22 because 2022's are still in production right now

canada has different laws and regulations they separate them that way they won't be sending us spec to canada and vice versa it is way easier and more efficient (also idiot proof) to just separate them

It is because of the different laws it is easier and smarter to have two banks and guides that way dealers wont accidentally order a us spec vs a canada spec and also you have to list out all options and features in the guide so doing 2 and minimizing confusion and potential errors and legal gaffes from a canada dealer ordering a vehicle that doesn't meet canadian laws or vice versa

Also import and export laws may be just up the road but it is another country none the less

Still unsure how they are ordering a 2023 today, as the order banks have yet to open, and per Tim Bartz, pricing has yet to drop for the 2023 Ranger. I think he did comment that once pricing drops, then the order banks could/would open, which makes sense.

I do think that there could be some shock for folkw that think they are ordering a 6g when in fact it will still be a 5g (here in the US).

Anyone know when ordering is closed? I thought the 2023 was gonna be the 6G and was a little annoyed at no pics of the US version, now I know why lol.

I personally prefer the 5G looks so if I can still place an order I will.

idk how people could think its a 6g but then again people are stupid and don't pay attention. People can't order but since the guides are open dealers can get all the info based on the guide and just sit on it till the banks open and just tell them hey we are doing your order when in fact they are not. There is a price list for the ranger as well as of the first of this month however as far as I can see the banks arent open yet

Nobody will know when it closes what ford does is they keep taking them until they send out a memo saying hey we got too many we are closing the banks for these vehicles on this day get them in and get them rovp'd or they wont get built. And for us it was never a 6g fords been saying that since the beginning

What other laws is my curiosity?
And Ford knows where the truck is at all times , if I cross over, turn on or off whatever needs turned on or off , unless there is a mechanical difference between the two ? If it's just lights , seems like an easy fix ...
