Place a jack under the upright and lift until the link bolt lines up...Trying to install the fox 2.0 and I don't know how you guys do it alone. I can't get it back together, the sway bar tension is way too much even with the bolts loosened. I watched the state3 video a few times and it looks like there's no tension.
Yup, I'm doing one side at a time. When I did mine, I unfastened the anti-sway bar link from the knuckle. I also removed my calliper and rotor (lighter, easier).
Also, if you’re raising your truck one side at a time to do this, you are putting tension on the anti-sway bar. Raise both sides and use jack stands - toss a wheel under the frame in case they fail.
You will very likely pop a sway bar link that way. Having the truck evenly lifted will make things easier.Yup, I'm doing one side at a time.
Oh yeah, it already popped off.. so the clock is ticking on that but my truck is a grarage queen so hopefully I won't have to worry about it but I'll prop up the side I'm working with when I go to the other side. You will very likely pop a sway bar link that way. If the grease boot didn’t come off, pop it back together - you might get lucky. If it did, you might as well buy a new one. $45-ish for OEM. Maybe Benny @LevittownFordParts.com can give you the ranger5g good guy price. ?Oh yeah, it already popped off.. so the clock is ticking on that but my truck is a grarage queen so hopefully I won't have to worry about it but I'll prop up the side I'm working with when I go to the other side.
Mine popped out while installing my kit. I just used my pitman arm puller to press it back it and it's been fine after significant off roading. Look at it occasionally, but don't worry about this point.Oh yeah, it already popped off.. so the clock is ticking on that but my truck is a grarage queen so hopefully I won't have to worry about it but I'll prop up the side I'm working with when I go to the other side.
