Seller says 80% left (obviously I don’t know much on tread depth/what to look for in a used AT tire)
$400

I've spent 30+ years doing 2k+miles/week, and never had a blow-out of significance. I've had flats, had commercial re-treads peel off, but never had a tire fail other than due to hitting a road hazard, and run many tires well beyond their recommended service life. I also spent many years in a tow truck and light service truck, without ever having attended a blow-out in the hundreds of tire calls.

Not to say it doesn't, or can't happen, but in my experience it's very rare even on bad tires. The center was the last summer on my F150, and did 2 long trips on granite logging roads.

2005 Mustang GT. I replaced the original tires in late 2018 at 29k miles. I usually run'em until the treads worn out or excessive dry rot sets in. 2004 Marauder. Original tires replaced in early 2019 at 39k miles due to excessive dry rot.

I was confused. I changed out Marauder's original tires at 42k miles and changed out the original tires on my 2006 Ranger at 39K miles during the fall of 2018. Most notable in each case was the new tires were noticeably softer riding as the old tires had gotten hard and stiff - alrighty people, don't read anything else into that!

so this is a relatively new thing for you changing tires by date.

plowing = cold = slow

what exactly happened? or was it just a flat from tagging a curb while plowing?
going down the highway after leaving the final lot, tire went boom and come apart.

That was a really good deal on your new K02’s. I think I paid like $300 a tire all in on my last set. Sometimes I think I have to get out of impulse buy mode and start shopping for sales more.

All this tire talk has me thinking maybe I won’t wear these near new Hankook’s out, but just start shopping for a good deal on so,e K02’s. I love those tires. Hopefully the fever will pass before I can actually get out of bed long enough to go down and get them M&B’ed. ;)
that was with me selling the stock tires to discount tire. they had 100 miles on them. i drove from dealer home then to get tires.

Those look more worn than mine with about 20k miles on them. According to Toyo's warranty mine have about 70% life in them.

a decent tire on a tight budget thats new is this one. I have used a set before and was impressed for the money. They are not a hard core off road tire. More of good street tire that can handle a forest road kind of tire. They are one of those tires made by a big company that labels and brands them for several other folks. I have seen the same tire under at least four brands. I paid about 100 a tire brand new for them. They come with a warranty to 50k and have lots of sipes on the tred. they are pretty confident in rain. are they the best tire ever, no. But, for the price and a brand new tire its a good choice. They also make a mud terrain version but I have no experience with them.
