Now that I’ve read through all of the comments I think I should break open the ol’ piggy bank and just get new tires at this point. Then I don’t have to worry about the actual condition of used tires. Now the big question, what tires do you guys run? My top three are Nitto ridge grapplers, toyo at3’s, or the ko2’s but I know everyone has a difference in opinion (just like the tailgate dampers, but let’s be honest the people who don’t use dampers don’t deserve rangers ?)

I think that's a wise mover and even though it'll sting at first it's better to Buy once, Cry once.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers now and love them. After having the KO2's on my Jeep I think I'm going to go with them next time as they were very good also. You can't go wrong with any of the three you mentioned.

with that being said....

2019 Ranger for sale. $300 or best offer. comes with Hankook Dynapro with approx 14% life left on the tires, 6 tie downs, hood struts, and a bunch of other things that never got deleted in following years.

its a good deal, but as a man, I have just found out this little girly truck isnt for me. I need to upgrade.
23 Tundra....here i come.
I say no on the tundra, rob a couple banks and buy the new raptor R. $100k truck can’t be too bad….right?

I've been really happy with my Toyo AT3s. Toyo offers one of the best treadwear warranties I can find on AT tires at 65k. I've had mine on almost 20k and they're wearing great. Mine are E rated 33"s but have not any issues with rebalancing yet.

Offer up or Facebook is a great place to buy tires. I can find 4-5 year old brand new tires for that price. I drive a lot so I replace them every two years before age becomes an issue. However it's a better deal than used and looking like those. My last set was Goodyear with kevlar, 5 years old, brand new, and $350. Keep an eye out and be willing to use any brand.
5 year old tires are junk, I won’t even run them on my truck/trailer past that date

Industry standard is 5-7 years replace them. I run 30k a year. They don't last long regardless. No blowouts ever and I have been doing this for 18 years.

Just wait, you will, I pulled 8 Bridgestones off my tractor last year with 40% left when they hit 5 years because I wasn’t about to start loosing lines/fenders etc, have had enough blowouts at 2 am in the pouring rain or at 6:00 on a Friday night trying to get home to worry about a couple grand worth of tires

commercial trucking isnt a fair comparison to passenger tires.
I’ve had my fair share of blow outs with passenger tires as well as commercial

last one in my f350 was maybe 5-6 years ago, was about 5 am after plowing for 26 hours straight, everything gets new tires now,

Doesn't matter if they're commercial or not you still shouldn't exceed the recommended years in changing them.

https://www.bumper.com/car-advice/h...exposure to sunlight, pollution and chemicals.

Tire manufacturers such as Goodyear, Michelin and Bridgestone recommend replacing tires before they’re six years old, even if you haven’t gone near the mileage limit. Tires degrade from exposure to sunlight, pollution and chemicals. So even if you’re someone who doesn’t log many miles each year, you should probably consider replacing them before they wear out because of the tires’ age.

Also ran across these as well
285/65r18
Toyo at3
Seller says 80% left (obviously I don’t know much on tread depth/what to look for in a used AT tire)
$400

Did my weekly scroll through Facebook marketplace and came across some 265/70r18 bfgoodrich ko2’s. Guy is asking $400 and I “haggled” him down to $300. Says he’s only put 10k on them. This a good deal??

Was going by the sellers word of “10k” miles on the tires. But everyone else seems to think they’re more worn down than that. Plus I always like to get at least a second opinion on things I’m not familiar with!
