I really like the way those look - MUCH better than its Hyundai twin. That said.. it has stolen design cues. That has been Hyundai/Kias thing forever now.
In general I think the Kias look a bit better than their Hyundai sisters.

They're both small SUV's with a small bed. I'm not a fan of the exterior styling of either but I do like the interior on the Maverick I looked at.

I ordered a Maverick. It was an Eco Lariat FX4. At the time I just wanted a small truck to do jobs around the home, while having it been able to handle snow. The 12 month wait for delivery was too much. That’s why I went for the Ranger. Also living in a major city, having a big truck is not practical sometimes.

In all honesty, I’m glad I got my Ranger. The off-road capability, towing capacity and not having a first year model worked out for me. The bigger bed is also nicer to have.

I am not a fan of the Hyundai or Honda trucks. The Maverick looks like a real truck and will continue to sell well.

I think having Maverick, Ranger and F series is important to Ford. Each have their place in the line up and should not steal sales from each other.

I can tell you that Hyundai only puts in a new block only if they are out of their refurbed short blocks (they run short because they are continually replacing these engines) - some of which blow up a 2nd time for the unfortunate owner. Our Sante Fe is full of rattles and the Ranger although substantially larger and heavier and produces more power yields better mpgs than the 2.0 Theta II . Speaking of mpgs I get gas card reimbursement from Hyundai because they deliberately overstated the mpg and got caught and again the DOJ fined them and forced them to compensate owners such as myself who were deceived.
Hyundais are decent vehicles but take a look at the longest lasting vehicles on the road and you won't find any - that is none. IMO they are experts at marginal designs - especially in their engines and suspensions, they do load their autos with nice interiors and a lot of tech features which allows them to sell with
And I posted this yrs back when a friend bought a 1986 Sonata, I had my Saab turbo 9000 and going skiing he tried to keep up with me going up highway 24 towards Woodland Park in CO, I easily was outpacing him when I look in the rear view and see clouds of smoke, the engine blew up as Hyundais were known for back in those days .
Ok, bad experience, I have not had one. 26 combined. Complete engine, not shortblock.

You did well getting a whole new engine plus it sounds like you have a good dealer. My experience with Hyundai isn't necessarily bad - but I did choose the Sante Fe over a Jeep Grand Cherokee back in 2013 because I've had turbos for 35+ yrs and the Sante Fe was originally rated at 27 mpg highway, certainly better than a Jeep. Hyundai does keep improving their vehicles and it appears the Ionic is a solid offering in the EV market, but when it comes to trucks and legit off road vehicles it's not Hyundai's strong suit.

Yeah it's pretty bright and you really have to like yellow. There was a cart return between us but there's no comparison to our Saber color.

the "man" truck actually starts on the left....as you can see, they slowly "feminise" themselves the further right you go
Rangers sitting at ???

Lol...your mansize truck around here wont fit in most garages or parking spaces here in DC, Im good with my less manly Ranger?

Guess I just do not like the styling, color or that they trying to promote a unibody suv with a bed as a truck.

Sure but ford didn't sully the Mach 1 name by dropping it on performance models of their other cars. Focus ST/RS & Taurus SHO for example. They didn't offer those plus a Mach 1 model for the HALO effect. They didn't stick Mach-1 on the Mustang Two 4 cyl beater either
FWIW, the Mach 1 was an appearance package that first started in 1968. It came with a low HP 351 V8 with a 2bbl carb and single exhaust. With the Mustang redesign in 71 the standard engine was a 302 2bbl single exhaust. You could as an option get the performance v8s that were available in other Mustangs but they were not part of the Mach 1 package.

The Mach 1 appearance package was also available on the Mustang II from 74 to 78 with a v6 and optionally the 302.

In the early 2000s the Mach 1 name was resurrected for the Mustang and slotted in-between the GT and Cobra. This was the first time the Mach 1 badging meant it was a performance version of a Mustang.

The 21 Mustang Mach 1 is the first time the name approaches halo car status. But the Shelby GT500 is really the halo car version of the Mustang.

I agree with it not being an off road, and have said it's more for hauling soccer gear.
