Replaced the Bak Revolver X4s this morning. The first one failed and they sent a new one in less than a week.

Let's hope this one lasts because I do like how it works. =)

I have no idea what that is (an air intake?).

But it's shiny and looks cool and I already must have it!

Damn you Ranger5G forum! *shakes fist in the air* =D

Let there be LIGHT! Finally installed these Nilight bed lights, connected with the Wolf Haus pigtail. Needed to trim off the ends of the lights, and I didn’t use the third string of lights, but I’m super stoked about this. Considering it’s dark for half the year up here, these will get some good use.

I put a Bak MX4 on and what poor quality. Screws stripped out of the aluminum extrusions holding latch and wire covers, weather stripping applied wavy and crooked, seals crooked, and corner seal missing a chunk. Sent pics waiting to see what they do. Somebody didn't use a torque driver. Can't believe the poor quality. I'll post pics if straightened out and I don't have to return it to Amazon to buy a different brand.

I wonder if they're slower to deal with issues when another vendor is involved?

I bought direct from Bak and worked directly with Bak for my issue (two of the aluminum slats separated), so they get all the profit as opposed to selling it wholesale to like RealTruck or losing some to Amazon?

I used to sell our little games directly from Amazon, so I was shipping them but Amazon would take about 35% as their fee.

BUT ... Bak should treat you the same if they want to keep happy customers.

I hope they do right by you very soon.

That really looks great and what great light coverage. I have he WolfHaus with pigtail but have been hesitant on what lights and switch to use (no shell, just a tonneau).

Yeah that was in my pitch black garage and it was lit up like the daytime. Go for it, a very cheap solution. If I didn’t have the cap I would have used all three strings of lights, under the rail. I got these:

Nilight 3PCS 60 Inch Bed Light Strip 270 LED with On/Off Switch Blade Fuse Splitter Extension Cable for Cargo Pickup Truck SUV RV Boat,2 Years Warranty https://a.co/d/emqCf5u

I will see. The rep was talking about sending a replacement once they got pictures. If not I will have Amazon send a truck out and pick it up. I am making a YouTube video so have everything documented .

You will be happy I installed one last year and have seen improved gas mileage every since, not a tone but a half to 1 MPG all the time which adds up.

I did a ticket with 5 pics the night before I called them. Well, actually, there's no way to attach a pic on their support tickets, so I did the ticket and then got an automated email response. I attached the 5 pics to the email and they did see them the next day when I called. I think the pics made it easy for them to see that there was a real issue. She said "oh, I see your photos and that's certaainly a warranty issue", she then forwarded me to a warranty person).

They then sent me the FedEx pickup tag and an email showing the cover was credited and then billed again to my Bak account. No charges and credits came to my credit card, it's internal on their side but shows as part of my transactions with them on my account.

I did the ticket and subsequent photos late Thursday afternoon and then called them mid-morning Friday.

I received the new cover (an entire new box with all the parts) and installed it today. I called for a FedEx pickup for tomorrow and am using the same box. I left the parts I didn't use in the box (some additional Ranger brackets and the weatherstrip, I was going to change the weatherstrip but the original is very well stuck and I would have had to scrape of the tape and scratch the bed).

I need to tape the hell out of the box and that's it!

I sure hope they do right by you and can't imagine they would do any less. They were fast and polite on the phone and I didn't have to get upset or repeat myself - I hate repeating myself!).

Good luck and keep us informed. I'll look for my post here with pics and post the link so you can see what I showed them.

Replaced the Bak Revolver X4s this morning. The first one failed and they sent a new one in less than a week.

Let's hope this one lasts because I do like how it works. =)

So ... later on I saw that I was still having issues with the right rear side. Just like the first cover, the right rail angles inward and catches the plastic tail gate cap (downright hits it and keeps you from closing it).

So I futzed away on that side and adjusted the middle and rear clamps, added the 3M-backed spacers (self-adhesive rubber pads about an eighth of an inch thick that you cut to fit). I probably did it 5 times over until it finally laid flatter. Still sits inward a bit but the tailgate clears it.

the little rear corner cap popped of, it's just held on witha small plastic clip, I think I may add Gorilla glue to both later.

And the cover itself is still too long by about one slat in my opinion, but now I have an eighth on inch gap between the front seal and the cab. Looks kind of wrong but it doesn't hurt anything, might make it a little more water tight, and others on the forum have also said it's long.

I hope that's it, phew!
