With the truck running, I can change the auto stop (check mark on or off) and my 22 Lariat Tremor will shut down at any stop. The thing is it NEVER shut down before. I have just over 1600km. I will try before I start the truck tomorrow. Anybody have any similar issues?

If the truck is brand-new and has under a certain amount of miles Auto SS is automatically deactivated.

There are a ton of reasons why it does not shut off - they are listed in the owner’s manual. ASS also stays insctive when driving in tow mode or with S mode selected on the shifter.

It doesn’t shut off and stays running under regular conditions when the BMS has decided it should keep running - heater or a/c is on full, battery is not up to set charge %, and many others. It wants to keep charging the battery. If it is shutting your truck off at a stop, it’s working.

If it’s not shutting it off at a stop, it could be working just fine…..or not.

The menu item you are changing is not for auto-stop-start. It is used to prevent the engine from shutting down on long periods of idle. I don’t remember the exact run time, but it should be in the manual. You would use this if you are doing a usb based sync or nav update and need to leave the engine running for the entirety of the update.

If you want to shut off auto-stop-start, then use the button after each initial engine start. You can permanently turn it off using forscan, or by installing an aftermarket device that remembers the last setting.

Before summer mine was shutting down at almost any light/stop sign. Now that the a/c is needed by 8am here it only shuts off once the cab is nice and cool and it has calmed the fans down (HVAC on auto). Even then it's only for a minute or so before it fires the engine back up.

I'm not 100 percent clear on which way it is being weird for you but like others have said; many reasons why it won't kill the engine. If it's killing the engine all the time and you have ASS turned off.. is it stalling? Do you have to hit the key or does it fire back up as soon as you lift the brake?

This is where I have the "Ahh haaa" moment. I did not know about that menu item. Since I detest Auto-Stop-Start, I will be looking for options. Thank you!

Two ways to kill it in the US and not create other issues.

Turn it off with Forscan

Or

Unplug the BSM sensor from the negative battery terminal.

If you try messing with the trailer connector it will think you are towing something and mess with the blind spot stuff if you have it.

We have no direct "go F yourself ASS" ... ...... .... .. . ... . .. . .. ... as an option.

Other than hitting the button every time you get in it, installing the ass memory thing, or if you got a 22 with it deleted

I can trade batteries with anyone one who wants to disable stop/start. Mine hasn't worked this year and always says charging. Suspect it's the battery but as long as it starts every time, which it has, not too worried about it.

Hi Joe,
Doesn't that run the inverter all the time when the truck is on? Is the inverter designed to be on 100% of the time when the truck is running? I really don't know and it may be fine to use it that way, just curious if that is they way it is designed. Thanks!
