I know if I keep it steady anywhere under 70 my milage goes way up. Also if I go anywhere other than WV it also goes up. A lot of hills hollers and mountains in this state that kill economy lol.

Not many here, but in Harrisonburg, 25 miles north, hundreds of em, rentals, at or near the James Madison University campus.
30 miles east in Charlottesville, the same at University of Virginia campus.
Their parked all over at designated areas...you take one, ride it, and leave it at another designated area.
I used to live in the valley in Elkton when I first started teaching! Always thought it sure was pretty down there and lots of nice flat farmland!

Best mpg... stay out of boost, but... might as well have bought a taco if you don't want to use the best thing about the Ranger. The 2.3 and its mounds of low end torque.

I was waiting for so one to pop one of these on here as a suggestion. If you ask me still pure snake oil after 30 years (at least) being on the market. (I am absolutely amazed these things are still for sale or some iteration when I checked the web for a pic). But on the other hand some still think whole wheat wonder bread is actually healthy ?.

I've got some super powerful magnets to put on the fuel lines to align molecules which will increase the MPG. I can let them go for $500.
Sorry, I'm keeping the 100MPG carb for myself.

I’ll raise you a flux capacitor ? for the 100mpg carb.

On an aside. Still new on here - how do I react with an emoji. All I ever see is a thumbs up to click on.

I averaged today doing 54 MPH, cruise control set, about 26 to 27 MPG. I take off real slow, coast to stops, watch others pass me in a hurry to pay more money at the gas pump. Not sure about the OP, but if you take it real easy, your gas mileage will improve. Seems no one can slow down these days though. And check your tire pressure. I run 40 PSI in my tires and it helps, rather than under inflated tires. And the window sticker said 19-19-19 for my Tremor. That is not even close if you drive easy!
Is that via truck mpg display or actual calculated? You described my daily driving and I'm right at 20 MPG actual calculated in my Tremor with tires at 39 psi.

65mph on cruise control from San Francisco to Los Angeles over the weekend. Hit 26.7mpg, just cruised all the way down the i-5. You gotta baby it.

Custom tune companies usually offer an mpg tune. Try 5 Star and/or Unleashed Tuning. Most of them are going to program the trans to upshift sooner though, which you don't want when hauling or towing.
Cat-back exhaust might help a little. I had a Gibson exhaust on my old Sport Trac and highway mpg was 3 mpg better than the EPA rating but city was no different. But then you have to weigh how long until you save the cost of the tune or exhaust in gas.

Spending money to gain fuel economy doesn't make a lot of sense unless you can justify the ROI.

Remove all your junk including the tent

Check your tire pressures

Change your driving style

Hey guys, Love my 2020 Ranger 4X4 Lariat. 63K miles and absolutely zero issues. But with fuel prices sky-rocketing, I'm wondering if anything can be done about my 19 - 20 m.p.g. unloaded, and 15 - 16 m.p.g. loaded (usually pulling f/b trailer w/ 500 lb m/c, total being approx'ly 1300 lbs.) fuel mileage..? Is there a CPU enhancement that might reduce power and yield better m.p.g...? I don't necessarily need 270 H.P. as I so rarely ever gas it hard... [[ Note: I do have a Leer cab height camper shell with a pretty slim Maggiolina Extreme pop up camper top above it ]] Any thoughts...??
In the last 216 miles I drove 100 miles with a 5,000+ plus travel trailer (see profile pic) average MPG for the last 216 miles? 19mpg.

when not towing, I have a tonneu cover, a swing tool box, and about 30 pounds of of wood in the bed. ( custom structure to prevent things from sliding around, and double duty as frame work to haul full size sheets of stuff.)

I rarely break 60 MPH though.mostly country rural driving in small towns.so speed up, slow down, speed up slow down.

I wonder if throwing a "male enhancement pill" like Viagra into the fuel tank would "enhance" the Rangers mileage ? As it dissolves it would cause the fuel "to get more and more" !!!
After all, an enhancement is an enhancement, right ?

Actually it would do the opposite Steve. It would use way more energy/fuel just like a top fuel car.:bandit:?

Depends on what your goal is.
Is it to spend less money?
Or is it to use less fuel and thereby produce less emissions?
Personally for me, it's the latter. I could go off on a whole rant about how our society values money over all else, which I don't think is healthy, for each individual person, society as a whole, or even the world and the environment. But whatever.
