Woohoo, no truck yet but I got these in the mail!

oil-change.webp

This is from someone here on the forum suggesting how to make oil filter changes easier. Just JB Weld the nut-thingie (official term) in place of the breakable clip/screws and easy peasy.

I'll search for the thread because they put links to these parts.

Edit: Here's the post with the eBay links for the nut-thingies and the knurled screws:

Very cool idea! ? I may do this mod. What length thumbscrews did you use? Thanks.

I got the 18mm but only because they didn't have 12mm. I think the original poster did 12mm but also said there's plenty of room for longer ones.

LOL, since I don't even have the truck, I won't know until later (and hopefully not via a low oil warning light!). =D

Good luck!

Maybe you'll get lucky and by the time you get yours, they deleted the shield altogether.

They might delete the entire engine, then no need for oil changes (that's me, always thinkin'). =D

Ummmm…a Dozen ?
Yeah, I'm probably going to be the only owner, and fully expecting to roll 200,000 miles (I'm at 20K miles now).

If I win the lottery and decide to sell it, I'll toss the filters in for the new owner, or donate them to a local Ranger owner. There are 6 or 7 in my direct community now. One guy has a 19 in blue, and an older Ranger in the same or similar blue (I'm colour blind, the older one may actually be purple or green, for all I know).

Dave, by going through this thread I can see how you can be spending money on the Ranger 3 years later. I just have to convince the wife that I have to buy parts for the soon to be truck and the hot rod.

It never ends Rick. lol I don't drive a lot of highway miles here but we're going on a road trip in June. I've already estimated it'll be around 3,000-3,500 miles and most will be highway so the deflector will most likely get a workout.

Good thing my girlfriend is back in Chicago for two weeks. She won't see the large boxes that I have coming Friday. ? Although she really doesn't care what I buy she's been hinting around about a ? and I keep telling her I have to save more money. lol
