So let me start off by saying I have never been a ford fan, at all whatsoever. A couple years ago, I had a 2017 colorado as a company truck and had alright luck with it, but it had quirks. Around the same time my colorado was using oil, the trans was slipping, g80 posi rear stopped working, 4x4 was a nightmare to get in and out and it overheated regularly around 100k miles, my friend got a 2020 ranger from his company. He has had nothing but luck with it and apparently plans on trading his tacoma in on one, which I think says something, since toyota people usually want to be buried in those things. I'm pretty much looking for an affordable truck that can tow my backhoe, get decent enough mileage going anywhere else and not cost 50k+. I wouldn't touch another colorado/canyon to save my life and I have never been a toyota fan, except for when they offered them in voodoo blue. My only dilemma seems to be finding an extended cab XLT with power heated seats, diff lock and the tow package in a color other than silver or cactus green. The tow package I can live without since it seems easy to install myself, but it seems like no matter which way I cut it, I need to sacrifice either the diff lock or the power/heated seats. I feel like it would be more logical to skip the diff lock and install an air locker if I feel I'm going to need it, since the truck is going to get helper bags installed in the rear, which require onboard air. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Just a heads up you most likely are going to have to order it, I had to order mine last may and it is built exactly the same as yours. It seems like supercabs are hard to find but it’s nearly impossible to find one with 302a on a lot.

I think if you did the Larait trim you could get all of that and under $45K. Check out Granger Ford, if you are willing to fly out and drive back to PA, they are below MSRP.

No, I want to stay under 37k. Trying to avoid payments. Plus I’ve never been a fan of leather seats unless they’re in a longhorn/king ranch. My friend actually just sent me a carbonized gray 4x4 only a couple hundred miles from me with a sport package that looks sharp.

I would build what I wanted on Ford.com, and shop it locally with your Ford dealers, as well as send it to Granger Ford in Iowa. I think they are at 8-10% below MSRP.

you have to look, but they are out there. Here is a FX4 super cab in Tampa. Cyber orange, which definitely isn't grey or silver, but it has the 302 package (heated seats), tow package, and FX4 package, which has the locking rear. It is fully loaded. Ferman Ford.

BTW - My quote from Granger was about 7% below MSRP. Which for me makes it worth the 900 mile trip.

Kinda hard to be pickey on options right now ... you can always call the Ranger hotline and get what you want expedited , the lady's name is Helen , Helen Waite ... so , to get the Ranger you want, go to Helen Waite...
i called them and spoke to helen bak. but i already knew i was gonna have to go to helen bak to get my ranger built

I'd be careful buying in Florida if you're not from there. It's interesting how they try to tax you and make it difficult to deal with out of state buyers.

So you want to get a ranger to tow your backhoe for work, and your main concern is color and if it has heated seats? What does your backhoe and trailer weigh? You should probably get a bigger truck if your doing this commercially.

If you are going to have to install helper bags in the rear, maybe we need to know more about the weight of what you are towing/hauling with it. Sounds like you need a full size just based on the helper bag comment alone.
