Glad you're back Alex! I really hope this one goes smoother for you. It's been a long crazy ride but it looks like you're up to trying it again and you've never let these setbacks damper your spirits. Yeah, I had to sneak that it there! ?
Glad you saw the post. Was hoping you would be one of the first ?? Yeah… I’ll give it another shot. But I told the wife I would also still be window shopping…In all likelihood the Ranger is more my taste and I could see myself enjoying it more than anything out there right now. But, with how crazy this car market is, I will keep options open until I have Ranger keys in hand? Thanks for the welcome back. Look forward to making my Ranger shopping list grow from everyone’s ideas and posts here ??

It's always good to keep your options open. You could always do a wider search and if you find one farther away you could either have it shipped or fly out there and make a small vacation driving it back home. Either way good things come to those who wait. At least that's what I keep telling myself with my Bronco order. lol You'll hopefully have the keys in your hands soon enough! ?

Dealers in Northern Illinois seem to have the Broncos for sale. We saw over a dozen in the last couple days. Not sure if they were marking up the prices, but one dealer had four in the lot (used) and three in the showroom (new).

I did about 500 mile search for any new rangers, and while I did find dealers that “supposedly” had them in stock, we know they pull the “oh it just sold” line, nothing seemed to meet my needs or likes when it came to color/trim/options. I guess I really had my heart set on the package I ordered. So decided since I’m paying the crazy msrp, I better get what I want, otherwise I’ll only be pissed at myself. But like you said, my window shopping will also be casting a wider net, so if we are out one evening and happen upon that unicorn at the end of the rainbow…it will be meant to be ??

But with that being said… if this second order somehow goes into the crapper…it was never meant to be as well ??

Enjoy the weekend, and hope anyone else lurking over this has a great weekend as well. I will be back Monday morning logging in here when I get to work ?

So after a bit of cooling off from my previous order debacle, I ordered another Ranger from a different dealer in the area. ? I guess I like being in purgatory and wait another 3,4,5,6 months for a Ranger?‍♂
While I did not receive the below MSRP discount, and looks like I probably will lose the heated seats (believe they are no longer available at all according to ford site) I placed the order anyways. The bonus is the dealer did not require any deposit only signature for order and agreed upon price, and stated I could cancel at any time as he would be able to then place the vehicle in his stock since ford was not giving him anymore vehicles (allotment). So I am free to continue to shop around while waiting for my order.
I did test drive the new Nissan Frontier and was quite impressed (power, shifting, heated seats, tech, dampeners ?, no ASS button) Basically many items that members here complain about that are not available or lack on the Ranger, are on Frontier. Brakes were firm. Large tablet style center screen. XLT style analog tach and speedometer with larger center info screen….on and on. Not trying convince anyone, just impressed by MY standards.
That being said, Nissan does not take orders, and dealers get what they get! So getting specific option is pot luck. Their lots were extremely bare. Pricing….. absolutely insane as we went to two dealerships and both tacked on $5K on top of MSRP to any of their vehicles as a “market adjusted value” ??? Needless to say I told them to “pound sand”, good luck surviving this chip supply/shortage, and the repercussions after all this calms down…people like myself will remember ?
So I’ll be still hanging around here for a while, and hopefully end up with a new truck one day….Ranger, Frontier, who knows. I just know after the previous 3-4 months of waiting I got my heart set on a Ranger, even with its few faults. It was great to actually see the model/color I ordered (haven’t yet seen one in our area) so that solidified my initial choice was correct.
I knew the car market was crazy, but after spending the last couple days window shopping, I guess it got crazier since my first order months back ? and I got a does of reality (or new normal) and it sucks.

Side note: dealer stated that if for whatever reason Ford delayed the building of my 22 to the point of them starting 23s, I would be in a great spot to receive the new model. While I know most here have been waiting to dive into the new model, my intention of ordering a 22 was because of the “old school” look. My preference.

So without further ado….
Hi, my name is Alex, not a new member, second attempt at ordering a Ranger, ordered my 22 Silver XLT FX4 SCRW 302A TOW w/o ASS on 04/16 and received my Ford order confirmation on 04/16 as well. Let the waiting begin…again ?

Edit: While I was at the Ford dealer, wife and I checked out one of many new Broncos, sorry to say, I was not impressed at all on just the fit/finish and cheap feeling interior alone. Again my opinion, just expected better for something “so new and redesigned” kinda got me worried about the direction Ford is going.

You'll still get heated seats. Only listed under the drivers seat, but they are heated. The only thing Ford got rid of is the ASS to save on chips.

For those of you still waiting to ship I know how hard it is and the wait can be long. Mine took 35 days after being built to catch a train.

I’ve been stuck in production with no updates on status for over a week, plus a blend date of last Wednesday. Module list still showing “G” and that’s it.

At this rate. I can probably expect my truck to be here in…August. ??‍♂

No hurry here, but, this is agony and it hasn’t even got to shipping yet ?

How long after switching to shipped/in transit have you all seen rail tracking info populate? I'm guessing I won't see it until Monday.

I used this:

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

Sometimes tricky to get it to understand you. Don't use speakerphone and say the railcar
letters and numbers all together and not too slowly. Good luck!
pozMeister, If you don't mine I have another question, maybe 2 for you. My truck arrived in Kirby yesterday. I actually saw the railcar as I was stopped waiting for the train. That was so exciting. Anyway..what was the process once it arrived at Kirby? How long did it take to get it at your dealership? My dealership is in San Antonio so only about 16 miles from rail yard. Thanks again.

Have you shared your story with your 'new' dealer? Perhaps they would be willing to ask the Ford regional rep to make you a priority 2, given the damage on the delivered vehicle?

The dealer I ordered a Tremor from had a white FX4 show up recently, so I looked up the sticker and now it has me bummed out. My Tremor blend date was 3/16, built 3/23 and this new FX4 on their lot had a blend of 3/23. I have been telling myself its the challenges with rail freight that have kept my Tremor in Michigan, but lo and behold, here is a new Ranger at my dealer, with a blend date a week after mine. This sucks! Why did this FX4 make it onto rail and then truck, and mine is making zero progress?!?!?! So much for trying to wait patiently. :headbang:

Did not want to tell the dealer as I didn't want him to think I was a bigger pain in the @$$ customer than he thought I was ?. After all that went down the last few days, I was fine with waiting...again. I'm going to continue to window shop around while I'm waiting for my order. If I find something else, it will be to my benefit.
But as I previously stated, the car dealers are really getting brazin and more cocky than usual, because they know they can charge whatever they want and desperate people will pay. I'm not desperate, and will not pay over MSRP. It's like the toilet paper debacle a year ago, just with cars now :crackup:

Hard not to shop around while waiting, that is for sure! I have found a 2019 today with a lot of mods that looks like a great deal that is VERY tempting, and ticks all the boxes except that it is not a Lariat, which is pretty high on my list of requirements. It is my color choice, FX2 package, Raptor Grill, fender extensions, Roush intake, etc., etc. Only 19,700 miles as well. But not a Lariat, so missing the Leather and heated seats.

My thought has been to buy it for now while waiting, strip some of the mods off it I wanted for my 2022 when it comes in, and trade it back and hope to maybe break even in 5-6 months...

But that is probably impatience talking as well. My 8-year-old self coming out. ?

I got one too, bumped to 4/15-4/21. I don't believe it whatsoever.
Yeah, I won't believe anything they tell me now until I see the truck in person. Ford sent me an email 12 days ago saying the new arrival range was pushed to 4/16-4/22. I turned sour this morning after finding out that the nice FX4 that showed up at my dealer last week had a blend date a week after mine. Now I'm in the camp that thinks something else is holding up our trucks.
