Three more of my scroll saw projects. The clock was definitely the most difficult and time consuming to date.

Great job! I made 2 lanterns once for Christmas decor, I quickly understood why they call.it fret work!! When I take it up again I will try the laser cut method, Grandpa taught me to work smarter not harder.

I just purchased a mini pen making lathe and completed my 1st one today. The wood is African Padauk. I enjoyed the heck out of making it and have already figured out it's going to be addicting. 1st pic is setting it up and 2nd is finished product.

Great work Jeff! I've used Padauk in a couple of small items. Not sure it you have a Rockler or Woodcraft near you but both especially Woodcraft have a lot of pen blanks already cut plus some glue ups they have cut down. I have a place within 90 minutes of me that also sells pen blanks they cut and stock onsite. His e bay store name is monitorseller , his company is Green valley wood products. Mom and pop full service operation , they cut logs down to size, have a kiln on site and can do can cut and sand down to size. He cut my cherry legs for my mission style end tables, 2x2 by 36 and I went and picked them up and cut them to length and cut all the mortises.

I've seen some pens finished with super glue, was or standard finishes.

We live out in the sticks so I ordered the products from Penn State Industries. They as well as many others have and amazing supply to choose from. I'll have to check out your recommendations. Thanks

Hi Folks,

I just got an assignment from the Mardas Gallery owner, Diana Madaras. She had some 20 lazy susans from Costa Rico that had shipping damage. I do not sell my work in her Gallery anymore, but she keeps me in reserve for weird stuff...Like dispay frames for the Tucson Airport, her studio etc. So I have about 25 large lazy susans in the shop for repair.... Quite a job for me as no two are damaged as the same...Throw in two cutting boards... I am about half way through them but my shop is flooded with lazy susans.... These are from Costa Rico...Here are examples...

Just finished spraying lacquer on this kingsized Cherry headboard. I have a cherry plywood back that's ready to install but I'm waiting until I get it in the bedroom so I have someplace to grab onto when i move it into the house. Made a piece of scribe moulding with mitered returns as a final touch under the top/face. Adding 2 wireless phone chargers that will work through up to an inch of solid material.

I made this little keepsake box last week. It's maple, birdseye maple veneer, and padauk. The liner is cork. Most of the pieces were cut by my CNC, but there was some handwork too. I may make another one of these in the near future, but in black walnut and purpleheart.
