I ordered mine on March 5th and immediately got the email telling me my order is confirmed. Shouldn't I be hearing something soon? Will it be delayed more because I asked for certain things?

2022 Ranger LARIAT Supercrew® 4X2:
  • 2.3L Ecoboost® Engine
  • Electronic Ten-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Ebony Leather-Trimmed Bucket Front Seats
  • 18” Black Painted Aluminum Wheels W/Black Center Cap
  • 501A High Package
Patience is too hard for something so fun to look forward too ... but explore a lot on this forum. I have learned so much about the Ranger, from hardcore mechanical things to settings to the simplest but maybe not so obvious issues.

And, let's be real, check the tracker many times a day (well, I certainly do so). =D

Use both the Ford Tracker and the awesome one from John, which updated about 12 hours sooner than the Ford one.

Whether it's a SCAB, SCREW, spray in, no spray in, blue, silver, etc really has no bearing on the schedule. There is very little difference in all these details to make a huge scheduling difference. That being said, should there be a shortage of blue paint, then YES, there will be a delay similar to the chip shortage. Your specific vehicle may get bumped down, and someone else's may get bumped up.
;)
FORD gets most of its parts from suppliers, so unless a supplier is delaying something, most of all these vehicles are scheduled accordingly. Right now the average seems to be about 16-18 weeks (plus or minus) from order to delivery. It is not set in stone!!!! Before the pandemic/chip shortage, the average wait was 12 weeks. There are people here with more waiting time than others, and some got lucky enough to wait less. It appears the vehicles are created in batches. I assume once FORD gets enough parts to make a certain batch, they schedule it out. SCABs are not as popular, and SPLASH or Tremors are limited runs as well. Tie all that in with chip shortage, supply chain delays, transportation issues, etc. FORD is juggling a lot. And don't forget...this is just the Ranger. They have other models to deal with similar issues. Add in the people who were on the cusp of the 21-22 year, plus the people who will be on the 22-23 (new model) year there will be delays and issues during those transitions as well.

Brent,
You just ordered your vehicle, so chill!! You have plenty of time until you will be notified. If you received your order confirmation from FORD, you will eventually get more notifications. They have your info.
I DONT WANT TO CHILL! But yeah i appreciate your response. I'll keep hanging out in the creeper section and enjoying the massive knowledge on here. Stay safe dude!

I think you get the VIN about a week prior to your build week. Don't have mine yet either...

For what it is worth, I would predict they won't even schedule more Rangers for build until the Week of April 25th, so it's a long 3-4 weeks ahead. I agree with David and Alex, though, great place for commiserating and learning more about the Ranger.

As it gets closer you will get a VIN and a tentative schedule build date. It all goes in baby steps. Just kill the time lurking in the forum, and get your list of accesories all ready, so when you do get your vehicle, you won't have to spend more time researching ;) Keep checking this specific thread and see what is trending with other's builds as well. It will give you a good idea of when yours is coming along too :like:

Well I want to finalize mine did come in. The dealer 100% stood by the deal. Very professional. Price was exactly as discussed in November. Got 0% financing because I only took it out for 3 years. Very well worth the drive to deal with Nouse in Chillicothe Ohio Ford. Speak to Dominick. Tell him Steve Tipton referred you. I'm adding these two pictures just because I got home and have not went out and put on the retractable tonneau cover and step. Maybe after it stops raining. Cheers

Looks like they may have scheduled through May, so those next scheduled end of April would be June production dates.

You're giving everyone hope that they are being produced. Also like to add that I have no clue why Ford can't include black lugs with the black package. Probably the first thing I'm swapping out and of course first additions will be damper and bed cover.

Yep, I should have added that. Would say June production, July-August delivery depending on where you live.

I'm glad you have some hope. If I'm lucky black wheels will be gone for a set of magnetic grey. Only thing I didn't want was black wheels. I'm 50. LOL

Great to see that 2022 Scabs do exist. Looks great. Mine is configured similarly, except Carbonized Gray and the Bed Utility package. First picture I’ve seen of the black STX pkg wheels.

Quick update from my end.

- Order placed on Feb 1
- Original build date April 4
- New Build date April 11

This morning I checked and I have a window sticker with a blend date of 4/12!

Talked to my dealer and he said it usually takes 8 weeks to ship so expect it in June. I'm in Colorado. 8 weeks seems dreadfully long!!
Your dealer is probably correct about shipments to Colorado. I am in Western SD and mine has to be shipped to Colorado and then trucked up here on convoy. It was built March 10th and still has not shipped. Delay - Rail Carrier. I am not expecting it until May at this point.

The good thing about my Ranger being towards the last of this generation is that if they just forget about ever shipping it some day in 2023 they will be walking through the lot and be like... WTF is a 5G Ranger still sitting here?:LOL::LOL: I'm just trying to keep my spirits up. I know I sound like an addict at this point!

This may be a dumb question, but I’m gonna ask anyway. My truck was blended on 3/16 and got built email on 3/26 that said it was awaiting shipping. I used the order tracking app and it showed it was on hold for shipping. Went to dealer and asked last Friday and I noticed the app “on hold” disappeared. Now today it showed back up. The dealership said it would ship no later then next Monday. Now for the question- do you think Ford borrows part from a truck waiting shipping to keep the line running? Just can’t figure out why the truck sets and other with built dates after me have their truck. Figured they were using mine for a part truck. What’s your thoughts? Am I way overthinking this.

As far as I can tell, majority of the line is on a moving belt, so a vehicle with a missing part would simply be pushed off til it could rejoin at a later time.

Least that makes sense to me. I don't have a "friend" inside.
