Show off your trail damage

This weekend I chose to take my 2021 ranger on a jeep trail. Specifically Wheeler Pass near Las Vegas. That trail is definitely not meant for long wheelbase and I’m surprised I came out with just this mark:

A nice dent and scratch in the lower fender, as well as barely a nick in the rocker panel. Time for rock sliders! I didn’t get a picture of the rocky creek that caused the damage. But it was tight maneuvering around boulders that a jeep would shrug its shoulders at.

I’m posting this as a discussion thread because I’m curious who else has banged their truck up off road, and how they feel about it? (Or if I’m the only one crazy enough). Overall I’m over it. Initially I was upset. The fender is only 200$ so if I wanted to replace it I could. But my mindset is experiences outweigh material possessions. When I’m old and dying I won’t be wishing I took better care of things I owned, I’ll be wishing I used those things to go more places and experience what the world has to offer.

And honestly... young people shit the bed every day from all sorts of awful things.. might not even make it to "old".

I've been lucky and haven't damaged anything besides the crossmember that goes over the transmission. We were up in UT and I came over an off camber right corner onto a large rock. I noticed a vibration once I got back on the road and saw it was creased and pushed up.

I think Frenchy holds the record for the most off road damage when he hit that cow a few months back.

I’ve definitely scraped the underside up but the factory skids seem to be doing their job. I’m worried about how the plastic transmission pan has little protection.

That was my first thought and luckily it wasn't damaged. I'd get some beefier skids if you're going to be doing a lot of rock crawling. The underside of my factory steps are pretty scraped up too and I was hoping they'd brake but no such luck. It give me an excuse to get some real sliders but now I have my Jeep for that. lol

I tell myself the Tremor will be treated a bit gentler than the 2018 Wrangler that will be traded in for it. The Wrangler has a bunch of trail pinstriping, a nice dent on the driver door from a log that kicked up on a trail, both passenger side fenders have tree rash, I busted the soft top door rails on a tree, replaced the passenger mirror after another tree incident and the skid plates and rock rails I added have paid for themselves time and time again. I'm a bit worried the Tremor will end up on a trail before I add more protection, so who knows, maybe I'll have some trail damage photos to post here this spring.

Trail damage is cool! That's a badge of honor! It's the parking lot crap that drives me nuts or cutting the corner too tight in a Downtown garage! I'll take all manner of rock, tree, road damage while on the trail.

Yep. My girlfriends truck has rock sliders on it and it has protected it from several door dings from other people.

That layer of dust is actually really protective. Keeps at least some of the pinstripes away.

I was glad to see that these were easy to get off, mostly dust but gave me a scare for a minute, Arizona dirt on our camping trip.

Here is some trail rash from last fall. Not at all as bad as it looks.

Stuff like that was the entire reason I bought the Platinum White - it hides those really well. My old Ranger that was magnetic had a bunch of pinstripes down the side. Best I could do was to hide them with a "scratch saver" thing - it worked well for a while but eventually washed off.

After almost 3 years and quite a few brushy FS roads, you have to look pretty hard to see the scratches.
