Just got my FX4 leveled and upgraded to 285/70/17. Looks great, my only complaint is the new ridge grapplers are ridding a bit rougher than I was expecting compared to the hancooks. I feel the road a lot more. It’s something I can get used to but I want to make sure it’s not something else. First I thought it was a balance issue but it ride pretty smooth on fresh flat pavement.
The level is a RC 2.5 inch kit installed by a local shop. Pics below!

Also the level will cause it to ride a bit stiffer.

The RC level lift on the front of mine did not change the ride at all. It's definitely the harder tire compound.

Looks great. Tire pressure for that size should be between 32-36 psi

You installed LT285/70R17. For a much better on-road ride, better gas mileage, etc, you should install the much much lighter 285/70R17, which are 49 lbs instead of the LT which are 58 lbs. Also the sidewall would be much more compliant, giving you an improved ride.

It's rougher riding because it's an E rated tire. Much heavier duty than the stock rubbers.

They're also gonna steal some MPGs from you..

Seems like 33" e rated tires get people around 15-16 mpg.
It’s C rates

These are C rated tires. My work uses E rated on our work trucks and I know not to buy them haha

I’m running at 38 on all 4. Might drop down to 36 to see if it makes a difference. I’m thinking it might be the stiff rear shocks (stock) combined with the more aggressive tire that might be the culprit. I’ll probably grab some bilisteins to put in the rear at some point and see if it helps.

I would drop air pressure for sure. Even my stock Hankooks ride rough above 32. You can always do the chalk test to verify.

After driving a bit more on it I am pretty sure at least one is out of balance. Also, I drive a lot of E rated MT tires at work (gold mining) and those are loud, not really rough on the highway like I am experiencing. Will take back to the shop and see what they think.

I notice those aren't the stock wheels. Are they hub-centric? If not, that's likely the source of your "balance" issue.
