First good snow here to test them out properly. About a foot of fresh powder and they did great. Much better than the Ridge Grapplers which were ok in fresh snow, but ice skates on packed snow/ice.
Very impressed so far.
Wanted to replace my Ridge Grapplers with something that can handle snow and not feel like a lug. Was hoping to get AT3W's but it looks like they have been replaced by the 4W's. Just put them on and the 285/70r17's are a couple of mm's large than my RG's in the same size. So just a heads up, you...
Finally got my truck back......almost 4 months later.....
My service advisor initially helped me with ford corporate, then when he needed to send details to them for the repair he would ghost them or forget to cc them. Incredibly frustrating. Took them 3 weeks to get the approval for the tear...
Tear down was approved. Ford is covering 40% up to $6k (includes tear down). Shop has 5 other transmission tear downs so it’s gonna be about 6 weeks for repair.
truck is a 2019, 70k miles, 10k over warranty. I’m driving my dads 2020 canyon he doesn’t really use until it’s fixed.
i bought the truck at the beginning of the shut downs in California when dealers thought they’d never sell another car again…..worked well in my favor haha
I was able to get 0% for 84 mo on this truck, but put a fuck ton down so my payment is almost the same as my phone bill....I do not want to loose my 0% and know I will not get something like that ever again.....
Choices..............
Whatever you decide, good luck on the 0%. The local Ford...
Yeah I’m planning to have the convo with him next time I go in.
Also I keep a first aid kit 12 pack of water, inflator and tow straps just in case. Got chains for winter, though with my 33s I’ve never had to use them yet.
Actual update today. Was able to get a hold of my nice corporate person. They are waiting to hear from the dealer to get a full estimate before they agree to pay a percentage of the cost. She thinks approximately 40-50% will be covered which honestly makes me feel a bit better.
Hopefully the...
Another day another boring update. My corporate advisor took the day off so no updates. Called the dealer to see if they were contacted yesterday and they have not. Thinking about getting a quote from a local independent shop just in case. Lucky for me my dad has a gmc canyon he doesn’t use so...
I’m still alive. Just got off the phone with the service manager at the dealership. 6k for a rebuild up to 7.5k for a new transmission. He advised me that since there’s an TSB for the transmission to call corporate and explain the situation. Told me to be very nice and sometimes they help out...
Just an update. Just left the dealer. They think that since I was up to date on my services (majors all done by ford) that I may qualify for up to 3k of the cost but they want to do full diagnostics before they say. Fingers crossed.
Appreciate all the support. Luckily my dad was in Reno and...
Tranny blew on my way to Reno today from truckee. Shifted hard check engine came on pulled over and you know the rest. 70k just had the 60k service done in march which included Tran flush….
Out of warranty……
RIP my wallet.
FINALLY BALANCED!!!!! They re calibrated the road force moved some weights around and its 100 times better. Front end feels stiffer, but that just means I'll get coil-overs in the future.
Definietly relieved. Also when they ordered the wheels from KMC, KMC said they did not need to install...
Yeah I'm taking the truck in tomorrow on my day off and me and the manager are going to discuss the issues. I brought up the hub centric rings on the phone and he said that if the wheel is mounted correctly to the truck then it shouldn't be needed, but I will press him a bit more. They use a...
I believe its the 17x8.5, but I will check when I get off work. I asked the manager at the shop last night about needing additional hardware with the wheels and he said no, but I will email KMC and see what they think. Do you have a link for the hub centric rings?
Thanks for the recomendation
Yeah I'm pretty sure this is why the front end has stiffened up a bit. Which isn't a problem for the time being. I will wait for my wife to complain about it before I spend some more money on new coil overs ;). For now I just want these tires/wheels balanced. Since they re balanced the vibration...
Do you have the them E or C rated? I'm very sure my issue is from either a messed up balance machine, the wheels, or defect in the tire. They quickly balanced again last night right before they closed and it was worse after so I plan on dropping it off tomorrow.
