Glad there will be resolution for you. Maybe have the wife politely ask for some form of compensation for all the trouble and time off that had to be taken to go to the WV DMV; maybe a few free oil changes, or $250 in service dept credit. (which would pay for a Trans Fluid Checkup :p )

At least now you can go shop for that Raptor grill you wanted. ?
When the deal was almost done i inquired about how much to switch to a raptor grille , he "checked with somebody " and it was going (not "gona" grammer police im trying here ,just for you guys) to add $900.00 bucks to the deal ,ouch , i said I could just do it in my end . The other nite when we were talking about canceling the deal , he must have "remembered " i wanted one and offered it as $900.00 worth of stuff and maybe a few more accessories , i declined , but I did offer to take the 2500 in Ford Points (why cant those just be dollar for dollar?) , that way Ford gets it back anyway , said he couldn't do that. I NEVER wanted anything extra than the deal we both agreed to .

Yeah, $2500 in ford points would have been like 500,000 Ford points.... no way they'll hand over that many. LOL

His quote on changing out the grill is stupid high too. The part sells for around $250-$300, and from what I've seen it's not super hard for one to do it themselves; No reason to pay dealer for that labor charge.

Either way, at this point I would never go back to or recommend that dealer again... whether this tax money thing was shenanigans, or an honest mistake, it's just a crap show all around for their reputation. Super glad my interaction with my dealer was so incredibly smooth now.

I'm glad the OP was able to get his issue straightened out.

I bought my new 2020 Chrysler 300 in Tennessee, bringing it back to NC for registration, taxes, etc. Everything went smoothly as I recall, with the exception of the DMV branch manager screeching about everyone putting on the face masks and standing 6 foot apart.

Previously, I bought two new motorcycles from the same motorcycle dealer in SC, bringing them back to NC for registration, pay taxes, etc. The first experience was worse than a joke - the DMV office was across the street from the insurance agency I used at the time (Mooresville, NC - Little New York).

Clerk began screeching about my incompetence, incorrect paperwork, defective genetics, etc. I silently turned and left as it was clear this 'transplant' was attempting to entertain others at my expense. To make matters worse, an unknown male suddenly appeared in the doorway of a backroom - smirking and doing his best to keep from bursting out laughing.

Then went to a DMV office closer to my house that same afternoon with the same paperwork - no issues. I related my story on what had just transpired an hour or so earlier - clerk responded: "Well, you know." Yes, I do know, all too well.

I accidentally replaced an existing slow-close with a regular one, but both me and the wife kept dropping it. And that crash sound is really jarring in those situations. Lordy, we both kept saying we could deal with it, after all, the majority of our lives have been with normal toilet seats! And we got a tiny bit better, but after "toughing" it out for two weeks, I went and got a slow-close. This has the be one of the most wasteful spending things in my life - all for a toilet seat. Good grief, I'm failing as a human.

And who knew that a Ranger forum would bring out this type of issue!

Now if DeeZee made one for a toilet seat, I may have saved some money ...
I might just need to recruit you, that's a great sales pitch for needing a damper! :like: ?

? I see that I have some work to do over the weekend.?

No problem. I printed your screen shot because the link gives me only $1000 rebate and FORD's "special rate" of 6.9%?. Might be by location/zip?? Either way appreciate it :like:

I'm sorry...6.9% is NOT a good rate FORD!!!
So I heard back from my salesman and he said I get $1000 off msrp and this $1500 rebate. Now I have no clue what the $1000 off thing is.

I kind of figure that the truck will cost what it will cost and that they'll make the money they need to.

He's been upfront with me and I figure this is all "funny money" to an extent. They'll give you this off, but that's already built-in to the price. At the end of the day, the dealer and Ford will make money and as long as no "hidden" figures appear at the time of delivery, I'll be happy and drive off into the sunset in my Ranger (although I am disappointed about the hood strut thing, nah!).

Good luck with yours and wishing you smooth sailing with all the financial stuff, which always becomes more complex than I "think" it should be!

Not to go off topic on this very exciting thread...
But does this Raptor Grill come painted with the Magnetic surround and black letters only??
Please continue with more of AS THE REPO TURNS
I can't tell, in the pic on the truck, it kind of looks painted and glossy, but the other pic on that page looks like it's unfinished:

Is it me, or is this grille look different than the other Raptor inspired grilles? Am I crazy?
Most don’t have RANGER at the top. The others also have the F and the D running to the edge of the grille. This one has those extra pieces. This one is my favourite.

After a $10,000 exemption. Not defending IllAnnoy, just clarifying!
Its still the most corrupt and possibly the most oppressive state in the union.
New Jersey would like a word with you.

Thank you, I knew I wasn't crazy (my wife would disagree). I think I agree with you... This might be my favorite version too.

This Ford grille reuses the magnetic surround piece that’s on your current grille. At least that’s what I’m told.
