They said there would be a lifetime warranty on the repair. (better than Fords) You know they wouldn't do that if they would think it wouldn't last.No worries, this is NOT 1968!
Your repair will be as good as new... and will stay that way!
Asthetic hood scoops are like fake pecs....LOLI just noticed Ford has a hood scoop on it's website, maybe the dealer would throw that in for your trouble.
All body shops have a lifetime warranty. They don't expect most people to keep the vehicle that long and for those that do they don't expect them to bother. They also tend to have exclusions for things like rust...which, if you think about it, is the number one reason I'd actually bother to care. They said there would be a lifetime warranty on the repair. Regardless, it has not dampened my enthusiasm for my Ranger. Love it!
Yikes! Sorry to hear that. I will be sure to check the roof too.Well....unfortunately I did not look on top of the roof before we left the dealership. Neither of us did. When we got home, my husband noticed the antenna had a gap around the bottom. When he climbed in back of the truck to get a better look, he saw a dent& scratch right above the driver’s door on top of the roof. We went back the next morning & they insinuated that we had done it because we signed off that all was ok. We don’t have a garage. My husband had a carport built just for my Ranger. There is almost a foot clearance on the entrance, so, no we didn’t cause it. The dent is small & really doesn’t bother me. The body shop wanted to take down the header and do something with the airbags? & repaint the whole roof. $1600 worth. I just ordered a paint pen. I don’t want them possibly making things worse over such a small dent that, I think, can be covered just fine with the paint pen thing. But what’s bad, is that a couple days later we found out they had backed my truck into a F-250 and scratched up the hitch at the dealership. They spray painted it and told my son to please not tell us. They later admitted it when my husband confronted them. They covered that up, makes me wonder what else they may have covered up. It would not bother me at all if they had been up front and not blamed us for the roof. But, lesson learned. I should have jumped up there and looked at that roof. You better believe I will next time!Regardless, it has not dampened my enthusiasm for my Ranger. Love it!

My sympathies to those who have suffered damage,but....Ugh, seems like the transit companies have not been taking very good care of what they are transporting. My windshield has about a 2 inch crack in it from road debris hitting it. The dealer has a new windshield on the way. Also got a small nick in the hood from whatever it was. A paint pen has touched that up. My damage is no where near as bad as the rest of you.
Yes. Happens a lot. A friend worked at Flemington Porsche/VW/BMW/Audi in NJ. I ran over a raccoon and needed body work. I asked where they get their work done. Went to the place and there was a row of brand new BMWs and Porsches needing touch-up from shipping before they could be sold.A friend of mine who used to work in a dealership body shop says this happens more often than you would think.
Only if the dealer or the transport company turns it in to insurance. But if they do any paint work and you go to trade it in later the dealer you are trying to trade to will go over the truck with a device that measures paint thickness. They will deduct for paint work on what they offer you. Carmax checks every vehicle brought in to them.I have tried to remain calm. I was wondering if since the body shop is fixing it would it hit a Carfax report?
