Oh yeah? Well at least in California the taxes go to fix the roads...oh, wait
Lmfao.. tell me about it. Grew up there. Thank god I left 5 years ago. My entire family is leaving. So many people leaving, it’s actually more expensive to rent a u haul from CA to any other state than the reverse

Let's get back on topic to supporting each other through this. These times are going to be very trying for all and it's not going to do us any good arguing about it.

On that note I'll have a JD on the rocks. ?

The problem is that the Ranger really isn't a small truck; mine is almost exactly the same size and specs as my 1990 F150 single cab with an 8 foot bed with an inline 6. Same length, same width, same towing, same fuel tank size, the F150 was about 300 lbs lighter but got worse mileage.

The modern "full size" trucks are barges but get the same or better mpg than the current Ranger largely because of power to weight ratios but also because of all the tech tricks.

There's lots of reasons to move to a Ranger from a full size truck but mpg isn't one of them.
I know the facts. I’ve owned more trucks than I care to admit but public perception is a different ball game.

1990 F-150 width without mirrors 79 inches. 2019+ Ranger width without mirrors 73.3 inches.

Drove to Costco last night (an hour before they close). The lines were so horrendous, I took a detour and then filled up at the Shell instead. Crazy thing was there were handul of RV's filling up at Costco and lots of construction trucks..

Yeah, it's going to get worse now that we cut off Russia. I wouldn't be surprised to see $7 a gallon nationwide here soon

My niece's husband owned a gas station. He said buying gas for one station made it impossible to make money off gas. If you had a few stations an bought in bulk it was easier to make a little off gas. When the price was stable he made about a nickel off a gallon of gas. He had to raise the price right away for future increases trying to figure out how much it was going to cost to refill the tanks on the next delivery. Gas just got people to stop. He made his money off drinks, energy drinks an snacks. He had a nice run selling prepaid cell phones an minutes but that dried up an he sold the station. The big money maker on gas is the government. 55 cents a gallon while doing nothing but allowing it to be sold sure beats taking all the risks, investing in a station an making 5 cents.
the family that owns the corner store- used to be gas station until about five years ago told me the same thing. not much money in gas for the store. they told me the gas was sort of a draw in to get folks to stop for gas and buy things in the store while stopped like beer, snacks, lotto etc. a big chain opened up right by them and that pretty much killed the gas biz for them.

I am currently happy with the mpg I'm getting from mine. Also happy I don't have a tune atm and can safely run low octane.

Also happy I am about to retire .. just before ww3 from the military. Hope they stick to non-nuke methods of fighting.

I don't think Putin is that stupid. Crazy yes. That would be his downfall. The goal of all dictators are to stay in power forever, and if he dropped a nuke that would be the end of him.
