USPS lost our incoming package with family photos !! Then a week later turns out they were at the wrong house and they just showed up ??‍Mine were shipped quickly, but unfortunately USPS has dropped the ball. They were supposed to be here Friday, now they are MIA. Hopefully I'll get them soon, and certainly no fault of the company.
Agreed. Driver's side is way more useful. Passenger side is helpful but not as much.I got my mirrors installed today (no pictures, sorry), and while the driver's side is very helpful I'm not sold on the usefulness of the passenger side. I didn't do a proper test, just a rough alignment, so I'll wait to see how they are in the real world. Either way, super easy to install, and they look they like came with the truck. I used a hair dryer to try to improve adhesion and 99.9% (supposedly...) alcohol to clean the mirror first.
I learned with my last GM truck that the passenger mirrors are already convex and that is why it says objects in mirror are closer than they appear. My GM had a factory blind spot mirror on the driver side but not passenger and I wondered why, and that was their answer. Just the look of it not being symmetrical kinda drove me nuts...Agreed. This was standard my 2014 Honda Accord. Agree, strange to look out of at first, but I got used to it very quickly, and now notice when it's NOT there in other vehicles.I very much prefer the European mirrors. There was a company in the U.S. that made them but I am unable to find them now. Out of business perhaps.
They are flat about 80% of the way from the inside to the outside with the last 20% curved so there are no blind spots. Some have a fine line from top to bottom that separate the two segments. The first time you look t them you go whoa, what the... But from then on it's a very natural adjustment.
With the small stick-on mirrors or those such as those on my RS I have to focus once, then focus again IOT fully use the small mirrors.
There may be a legal reason why they are not available in the U.S. but given a choice they are worth every penny.
.Not sure if you looked through some of the photos on NXTGENs website, but they actually have a photo of a BMW with those wide mirrors and a similar mirror to our ranger. It is kinda surprising how much more visibility the little ones still have and how much less distortion. These really are an A+ made product. I attached one of the photos, they show driver and passenger side. This was standard my 2014 Honda Accord. Also, the Honda has a camera under the right mirror and is activated when the right turn signal is activated. Image in that lane comes up in the center screen with hash marks indicating how far the vehicle in the blind spot is. This camera feature was a few years later removed because of the adopting of the blind spot monitoring lights in the mirrors. I actual like the camera, but i guess it's too much $$ to keep it in there, even for Honda.
Try setting your mirror different on the passenger side! When I first put them on passenger side was not much different either. But then I started messing with it and found a setting that has more visibility by combining the two. Mine is now angled further in toward the truck and further down than I’d do without the little ones. By doing that I have a commanding view of the lines and curbs parking, the bed hauling and a trailer towing. The little one extends the visibility outward where you would normally have the bigger mirror without. Play with it a little!!Finally got mine on - used the heated mirrors to set the adhesive ?
the driver side is AWESOME. Passegner side is... well worthless. It is almost an exact mini view of what I see it the mirror. May peel that one off.
I had to move my passenger mirror WAY in compared to where it was before. I'm still not done dialing it in, but I do feel I can see everything I could see before, plus a lot more along the side of the truck. Normally I don't do this because it creates a bigger blind spot, but with these mirrors it's not an issue. Still not as good as proper towing mirrors, but better than stock.Try setting your mirror different on the passenger side! When I first put them on passenger side was not much different either. Yep!! Normally I push the mirrors out as recommended. I still do that on the driver side and although you can't see the truck in the big mirror you can in the little mirror. The view is awesome now like that. Passenger took some playing for sure, but in and down was my trick, and the little one fills in the outer and upper area that is less important nicely. Someone mentioned mounting on top, but I'm glad these are low because you get a much more useful view vs lots of sky. Birds and clouds are cool, just not in my mirrors ?I had to move my passenger mirror WAY in compared to where it was before.
