I replaced the stock XLT mirrors with an ROW set of tow mirrors and and have been using them for about 2 years. They are almost fully functional, i.e. Power adjust using the stock controls. The one irritating thing that they lack is BLIS functionality. Not that I’m a huge BLIS fan. I just want the warning notification disabled. Of course the dealership won’t disable it. Has anyone successfully disabled the notification that turns on when starting the truck? Might it just require a jumper of some kind to make the truck think the stock mirror is still installed? Thanks!

Is replacing them with the Clearview tow mirrors that support that feature not an option?

I think he did replace his OEM mirrors with Clearview, just the ROW version that did not have BLIS. The US versions were not available yet at that time.

Don't think there is any way to diable them because the radar are also are part of the cross-traffic system. Might try putting a resistor accross the leads to the mirror so the system thinks there is an LED light there. This is just a guess on my part.

Yeah, I got that he did the ROW version, but was asking if getting the right Clearviews that support the feature was not an option. I think it would be the easiest path, then just sell the current mirrors to someone without BLIS.

Thank you for your responses. The set i got isn’t the ROW Clearview but the ones i got didn’t have BLIS. I could buy a set from Clearview but I really don’t want to put another $700 into mirrors I really don’t need anymore. I sold my trailer. Putting in a resistor would be simple. That might work. i had tried wiring in LED’s but it threw like 47 codes. I fixed it by removing the LED’s.

Could add a resistor to the two wires to mimic the load of an led.

I could research this but you all might already know. What type of resistor, besides 12 volt? Thanks again.

How was the field of vision for these ROW mirrors. I spoke with a rep from a different company, MSA who makes a tow mirror for Australian Rangers. He seemed pretty certain the “angle of the mirrors” would not allow me to see anything. Aside from the ROW mirrors have convex end glass on both mirrors, I don’t see much of a difference in physical angle of the mirrors. A google search for any other car group that modifies their vehicles using Euro mirrors didn’t seem to show anyone complaining that the angles are off and they can’t see anything.
