OCD (clinically diagnosed, well managed)….so making sure my vehicle fits comfortably in our 3-car garage is a prerequisite to purchase. Because of the built-in cabinetry, workbench, etc the Ranger just barely fits lengthwise. I actually had to “test drive” the garage fit before closing the deal.

Part of the issue for me is that in southwest Florida our irrigation water is brutal. The water spots from sprinklers will etch paint and glass given enough time. Also, during the summer months, it rains pretty much every afternoon….and when those water spots are left to bake in the intense sun bad things begin to happen.

Lol, I tease my wife that our next house will have a car wash built into the driveway and disguised as a covered bridge. I know it’s never gonna fly…..but it’s fun to fantasize.

I also keep telling her we’ll need (at minimum) a six car garage. The conversation’s always dead in the water the minute I start talking about the car-wash idea……but screw it; if I’m gonna dream……I’m gonna dream big.

Man, I thought this was a hamburger thread...

Mine stays out. My 16 Mustang GT is in. I don't drive it nearly as much since the suspension is setup for the track.

We may be in the process (soon I hope) of having a new house built with a three car garage, but it's looking like the truck may still stay outside. :frown:

Inside the two car garage alongside my wife's Prius, I did have to move my roll away's and build a few more shelves for stuff but made it work. With gas at $4.60 and cat thefts way up I don't want to leave it in the driveway all night, here in Cali we can only shoot a thief if he is inside the house (or garage).

Garaged. When it gets older it will move to the driveway. And something will take it's spot.

I don't understand people who fill their garage with shit, only to park in the driveway. Or worse yet, the street. It gets very annoying in my profession.

Also, priorities. I don't understand why somebody would spend $30k-$40k on a new vehicle without having a garage to put it in.

Down here the garage and lanai are considered “out of bounds”, so what we do is tape a trail of $5 & $10 bills to the floor……..leading just under the door and into the house.

Bahaha

Just to be clear.

In Cali, and most other places, you can't shoot a thief, no matter where they are.

You can only shoot an INTRUDER in your home if you fear for your life. Not because they are stealing your cat/fuel/truck.

Yes I know this, but fearing for your life is a subjective term, and besides, if he has a saws all in his hand that is a dangerous weapon, or a crowbar that he just used to defeat my door locks. At night in a dark house any intruder is reason to fear for your life.

Just making sure that you understand to use the right words if you ever have to defend your actions is all. Sounds like you've got it covered.

Yeah I mentioned that in another thread. In my neighborhood I estimate about 75% of the people here park their 30k+ cars in the driveway even though all the houses have garages. If I happen to drive by when they have their garage door open it looks like the garage mostly has boxes and junk inside.

I get having multiple cars and having to choose which to garage. But keeping the cars outside while the garage is taken up with unused exercise bikes from 1980, boxes of who knows what that probably have not been opened in years and now filled with mice nests, and other stuff that is never used and probably should be donated or taken to a landfill, that I don't get. To each their own, it's their house, their garage and their cars but I don't feel bad for them when they are out scraping snow off their cars early in the morning in freezing weather while I just get in my Ranger and drive off.

One word..... Horders!
My wife and I go thru the house, garage, and sheds once a year, with a few exceptions if we haven't needed it in a year we don't need to be holding on to it.
