... the passenger side dash accent area? Anyone considered this? It shouldn't interfere with the airbag, which explodes above this, right?

Why ? To hold what ?

Um, no freakin way. Unless you really hate your passenger.

I am thinking about removing rear seats in my supercab, and making that whole back area under rear window molle......

I guess we can figure out who is talking out their ass;

To answer someone else's question, another location to put RAM mounts for some specific low profile items.
Would YOU get into the passenger seat of a vehicle where someone had bolted stuff to the front of the dash, directly in front of you ?
Sorry, but my common sense would be yelling "NO" .

How about instead of armchair quarter-backing you explain why.

You'll have to pardon my skepticism when I see countless photo on this website where people have a thousand missiles unsecured in their cabin. Yet people are proclaiming the end of the world with a solid panel mounted on top of another solid panel? Way too many assumptions as well as to the purpose such a panel would provide.

Make sure next time your passenger has their iPad or iPhone in front of their face while you are driving you berate them. Cause the air bag is going to smash it into their face. Right?

Those videos show the air bag not touching the area of that tray on the dash IMO. Isn't that where the Tremor has a switch pack?

Well the beauty of this situation is that it’s not your truck and the airbag doesn’t deploy from that panel.

Look, you started by asking opinions, should you do it. Many who posted a response said NO.
You asked and got answered, but it's still your truck so if it's what you want to do, go for it.
And yes, numerous posts about "stuff" inside the cabin, mounted to the top of the dash or sitting in the rear. BUT, no posts about mounting something so near an airbag that deploys between 100 and 200 mph (about 150 to 300 feet per second). If there is even a chance that the bag when deployed catches or propels items you mounted directly on or on top of the airbag location than your asking for trouble.
These photos are from just the defective Takata airbags deploying after a crash....just the pieces from the airbag caused the injury's. And you want to mount something within inches of an airbag...
Your truck, your decision.
