Hey all looking for some suggestions!!! Have a hard folding bed cover on order...what did anyone else use to fill the gap between the top of the front of the bed and the rails

bed gap.jpg
Interesting. My TruXspor Tonneau cover had a rail with a seal that attaches there. Came with the cover. Ford may have that part,

Mark me down as new owner of a 2019 Ranger Lariat. I picked up my new Ranger yesterday, not the one I ordered, but I found one on a lot a 100+ miles away. In all my life, this has been the worst purchase experience ever. The truck I ordered is still sitting at the plant waiting for something to be corrected, I really don't know what, but I really didn't want to get strung along. The one I picked up was the exact build to the one I ordered except it had the e-locker. The new dealer made the deal with me over the phone and gave me the same deal I had previously of $500 below invoice plus they were adding in the $750 preorder cash that I no longer would be eligible for. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the dealership for my scheduled appointment, a 2 hour drive, the out the door price I was quoted was $800 more than we agreed to on the phone. I was extremely disappointed in the excuse they gave me, but I purchased the truck anyway after haggling $200 closer to what we had agreed upon. I also got $300 worth of free maintenance that I will give to my brother who lives near the dealer. All in all, I paid about $1000 more and got an e-locker for it. Instead of feeling happy about my new truck, I made the 2 hour drive home feeling like I got cheated on an agreement. Oh well, I guess it was still an OK price for the truck and I will move on and enjoy my new Ranger. I am sure someone will enjoy the truck I originally ordered.

The ability to track these vehicles is definitely a blessing and a curse.
I haven't ordered a vehicle since the PT Cruiser was first introduced.
That was the most pleasant car buying experience I ever had.
The salesman sat with me and we selected each option together (no packages).
He told me where to track it (the internet was a young thing back then), and sent me multiple "care packages" while I waited.
(PT cruiser branded CD cases, windshield sunscreens, die cast cars, etc.)

Not bashing FORD, they are trying to provide a service, while also minimizing frequent calls about "where's my vehicle?", but it definitely makes the customer anxious, bringing out the worst in us sometimes.
(And I am the King of "I want it now", Amazon Prime)

Well, my Ranger has been in Miami now since last Friday as best we can determine. It is now scheduled for delivery to the dealer tomorrow morning. Why such a long wait? Were there that many Ford cars delivered to Miami on a single train that it takes this long to disperse them?

As of this morning, the Tracker is stating "No matching VIN found, please check with your dealer for status on your vehicle."

So I think the dealer is playing some kind of game. I ordered my Ranger on January 26, 2019. I asked for the VIN mid February and he supplied me with VIN # 1FTER4FHXKLA32231 and he informed me that I could expect it mid April. I used the Ford Tracking website to check the status of that VIN and never had any information come back with that VIN#. I finally called/emailed him on April 2nd stating that I do not see anything with that vin number. He emails me back and says the VIN was wrong the new VIN is 1FTER1FH0KLA42166. Now I checked with that VIN and see that that it states it was ordered on March 2, 2019 and will be available by May 12. I call him and he says that Ford was not taking orders at that time I ordered it. What kind of BS is that. Thinking about cancelling the build and ordering somewhere else.
@Paz083 I had almost the same thing happen.I order mine on January 15 2019 had an order code of C444 and On Feb 5 2019 I went back to ask some more questions about the tire options and running boards. At that time he could not find my order said he'd let me know something the next day but before I could get home he had already called and said that he found it and had a build date of March 28th. So I didn't think anything more about it. On March 26th I decided to contact the dealer again because I still had not heard from Ford about my build starting. He gave me the VIN with the original build code of C444. I went home and put in the info one to find out that it wasn't the truck I order. Only the paint color was the same. So the next day I got back with the dealer and he gave me a new order code J222 and new VIN to go with it and it was the right truck.. the thing is that this truck had an order date of February 5th my 2nd trip to the dealer not the 1st trip on January 15th.. so I'm under the impression and if I didn't go back and ask questions on February 5th my truck probably still would not be ordered

Well I'm going to the dealer to see what happened but I think I got more information thanks to Pioneer74. He gave more information than my dealer did and if it's right it seems that the dealer just mixed vin numbers up. I had a chance to cool down and I'll see how it plays out lol. It just peeves me a little that I get the run around from the dealership. They should be able to get the correct information to me. I'm only spending 45,605$ for the truck. Ford's lucky I love the ranger. I used to have 2002 ranger and I loved that truck.

Just got Window Sticker today. Tentative delivery date May 12. I guess that is what I get for living in So. California? My $750 coupon expires end of April. I'll go to dealer and see if I can pay or finance now.

My truck came in yesterday or the day before (salesman's day off) and I'm picking it up tomorrow! Hard tonneau is on back order, so that will come later. For all the trouble others are having, there is hope! My truck did make it through without excessive delays and the tracker was on point. Maybe that's a good sign for Ford and everyone involved.

I was presented with dealer offers prior to delivery:
Simonize Diamond Plate Protection Option for interior and exterior: $698
Windshield Protection Plus Advantage Option: $598
I wasn't planning on doing these, but was wondering what other people thought? Reminds me of undercoating in the old days.

The price will be worth it once you own the truck......It's that good.

Congrats!!!! You don't need any dealer "paint protection" The modern coatings can survive easily with regular cleaning and "waxing"

You may have a state law that doesn't require you to pay for windshields. Here in SC windshields are replaced free.

@Pioneer74 says your truck is on a train moving through New York, mine came through that way as well (I'm up in NH). I'm willing to bet that it will show up on UR's tracker very soon. It only took about a day for it to get from NY to Ayer, MA and once it's on the ramp in Ayer it's in United Road's hands.
How do the rest of us find out that kind of detail? What's "UR's tracker"?

The Ford tracking site has been showing "In Production" for weeks, and nothing has changed, nor is it telling me anything about "Awaiting shipment" or "In transit". Yesterday my dealer told me "still 3rd week of April or so" and "The last update was March 19 saying it was "produced" and it's heading this way!"

GEEZE, it's been almost 5 months!!

Your are experiencing the exact same thing as I did/have.

I ordered
Oxford White/Ebony Lariat SuperCrew 4x2
Spray in bed liner
Locking Rear Differential
501A
Tray floor liners

I ordered it on 11/13
It went into production on 2/11
It went into awaiting shipping on 4/2

I had three different sources check on the delays. My pavement princess’ progress was impacted by the steering wheel supply shortage and the spray in bed liner back up. Those of us who had trucks built between the early February to mid March with similar configurations seem to have had longer than typical delays.

My truck was built the same day as yours, 3/19. Then it went into awaiting shipment on 3/27. In transit a couple of days later. And then estimated delivery on 4/8. UR's (United Road) tracker is the trucking company that is transporting my truck to the dealer from the rail terminal in my state. The UR tracker is showing my truck is available for transport since 4/3.

It's killing me that my truck has been sitting at the rail terminal for the last two days just 30 minutes from my house. :headbang:

I'm curious how you knew that UR was the company to transport from the train to the dealer?
