So I drove an hour and a half to a dealership in Apopka for a carbonize gray 2021 lariat with push button start/stop and adaptive cruise control that the ford.com website said they had. They had no idea about this truck. Never seen it and not on order or anything. They have a silver one at the price range of 36,850. I was really considering it until I saw a carbonized gray Ranger come in on the delivery truck. It's called a Rocky Ridge edition. It was beautiful but 41K. The problem is I cannot justify getting back into a 4 Wheel drive any longer. I don't fish much anymore and when I do I don't go to the mud holes they get me to my intracoastal waterways nor do I go up north anymore in the winter for work. Four-wheel-drive don't mean anything on snow or ice without chains anyway. So, an hour and a half back home without the truck. Enjoy the pictures and I'll enjoy your thoughts on it. I didn't see anything posted anywhere about these trucks. I did search before I posted this but it doesn't mean I didn't miss it. So here's a question. How popular is the silver?

Personally I don't care for the bolt on flare look but I know many do. Other than that it's a really nice looking truck! I agree it's not worth buying it if you have no need for 4wd as it's just an added expense you'll never use plus heavier so a little worse mpg. Keep looking and maybe something else will come along that suites you better.

I too, debated about going with another 4X4. My last Ranger was 4X4. I used it once to help a neighbor pull out some tree stumps and that was really about it. I like the looks and having the capability of 4X4 on the Ranger but just couldn't justify the $4,000 difference, lower MPG, probably slower due to the additional weight and higher insurance rate. I figured with the locking rear diff, it would meet my needs. Very happy so far with my choice.

What was the additional cost for Rocky Ridge doing the upgrade? The sticker in the photos only reflects the Ford factory stuff. Rocky Ridge is an aftermarket builder company that partners with dealerships. They look pretty decent but I always wonder about the math - this truck had the $1300 charge for FX4 gear which RR probably then removed and upgraded.

I have no idea. I'll let the mathematicians and the engineers figure it out.

You lost me immediately with those weird bolt-on flares.

All I can think about with those things are all of the 11th and 12 gen F-150s out in the snowy road salt belt of the Midwest that put those nasty things on to cover up the rust on their fenders.

I could've phrased it better; the sticker doesn't have the final price; did the dealer say what their final asking price is after the upfit?

Answered my own question after jumping through all the links on the Rocky Ridge website to get to actual inventory - they start at the $57,000 level and go up from there.

I assumed the 41K on that sticker was the dealers price. I didn’t even attempt to negotiate on that except to ask them what the residual value would be if I leased it for two years and then financed that residual value. They told me they were not leasing that truck out. They’re not really budging on their prices because there aren’t many Rangers out there. I think they took $250 off the sticker price for the silver one I was looking at and they only offered me 29 for my truck. Carmax offered me 33. I know we have to consider the difference for taxes but that’s only $70 for every thousand dollars so…

Anything off sticker right now is pretty good - most are adding several thousand above sticker.

I texted the salesman today and he said 55K. That is like way over priced! I never really read the sticker and I thought that's what the price was.

I'm confused on adding the 'Black Appearance Package' only to remove most of it. Blackened emblems and spray in bed liner for $1090 doesn't make much sense. Their website mentions "exchange" for the tires and wheels so maybe that cuts the cost a bit but???
