If you have the case number, it couldn’t hurt to contact Ford directly about it and ask them to escalate the priority.,,,,
Any chance you have that phone number handy?

You can call 800-392-3673. Though I contacted them through twitter initially. They were very responsive and there was a record of the initial conversations that way.

Best of luck. My driver's side rear axle seal also was leaking, but I didn't notice it other than noticing extra dust packed up against the back of the brake cover and on the inside of the rim. The dealer was able to get the seal replaced no problem, but there was no other damage at the time.

Called Ford.
I have a case #.

No info on what the ETA on parts is. Rep said in his experience by 8 business days there should be info on parts. Today is business day 2 from case creation.

Same info from local dealer service writer, shows me he is keeping me well informed.

Hold the phone!!!

I have been calling every week to Ford to check on status. (What else is there to do, I can’t do any truck things, and I have been driving a Toyota rental for so long. Every week the same “no ETA, no new info, sorry to hear about your issue. We apologize”.

My service writer has been giving me weekly updates also (more of the same info I get directly from Ford). But I did get a call today from him……………..

Official Ford email from shipping department said parts will be shipped 20 Sept.

I truly don’t know if I will keep the Ranger. I am sitting on $10k of funds for upgrades. I was waiting to see if the truck was not going to have issues before modding it, and then the axle when kaput at 4 months of ownership.

Today I am 91% waiting for the order banks to open for the 2022 wrangler and go back to what I know. Maybe that is just the unhappy experience of owning a $40k new truck, I dunno.

Maybe I get into the Ranger and fall back in love with it once again, quite possible. I want to be retired this time next year at the latest and am just looking to be happy with a dependable and fun ride. Hopefully my lariat will be as great as this forum is. Hopefully all the correct parts arrive.

That's disappointing. Hope things get resolved soon. Maybe you can drown your sorrows with what they offer for the dissatisfied Bronco people.

Ford has informed dealers to also buy for customers "a bottle of their favorite Bourbon or Spirit to thank them for their loyalty and patience."

I gotta say I was getting excited over the weekend thinking I could have the Ranger back by Friday. But the rear axle has not shipped as of the 21st.

It took Ford nearly a month to get the Rear window and driver door weather seals to the dealer when mine was in to fix the leaks. What sucks are these parts do not ship from Ford, rather from the individual parts suppliers and they don't provide ANY shipping information to Ford or the dealerships. Because they do it this way there's no way to know when they will be delivered.

What I ended up doing was express my frustration to the Ford Customer Care rep that not only was I left without my truck but still making payments, but Ford cannot make the parts needed to fix warranty issues available to the dealerships in a timely manner, provide absolutely no updates on when they will be delivered yet continue to assemble new ones. The Rep in an attempt to make it right authorized a gift card with 2 months worth of truck notes on it, but also added Ford Premium Care, extending the warranty to 60 months 72K miles for free. I never asked for any of it, just expressed my frustration with Ford over their inability to provide parts for a truck now in it's third year of domestic production. You can try that approach with them and see if they will offer something similar. Just keep your cool with them since that seemed to work for me.

On an interesting side note, within a week of the Ford rep setting up the gift card payment the parts suddenly arrived at the dealership. Did Ford step up the parts delivery? Did the Rep actually get in contact with the right people to get it done, or is it Ford having to start paying out money for all the warranty repairs waiting on parts to get things moving? I don't know. Just found it interesting that it all seemed to happen suddenly when prior to that it was anyone's guess on the parts delivery date.

A problem with a Dana axle has you scared about your "investment." I get that.

Why jump ship to more Dana axles?

Thx for the reply, I do talk nice to every customer rep I speak with. I realize it’s not their fault and I am sure they get crappy calls from Ford owners. Nobody wants to go to work and get mistreated. I simply tell/ask I need their help please. That usually goes a long way.

Many Ford replacement parts availability is really bad now. Blame the sub contractors, COVID whatever, overseas shipping, etc. Maybe my Ranger is the odd statistic of bad luck, I haven’t been able to drive it much to know if this is a one time issue or one of many in the future of this Ranger.

Ford has made horrible forecast with parts. Just look at how many Broncos are on the dirt parking lot (approx 8000) incomplete new Broncos. Just search “dirt mountain” on Bronco6g website. Way more threads about delays where it should be full of good threads by happy customers.

The 45+ fully loaded container ships anchored off the coast near LA as well as the shipping yards being jammed pack with containers still needing to be shipped to destinations inside the country certainly don't have anything to do with all the supply shortages we're dealing with...

I can’t even get a Ford to drive. I have been stuck driving Toyota rentals the last two months. A Toyota to come to the rescue to get me to work and back everyday.

One day I will be happier I still believe. But two months in the shop and counting is a downer.

You’ve met the threshold for lemon laws in Nevada. Time to have a meeting with general manager and discuss options. If you want a Jeep, unwind the deal. You want a ranger, get me this one (whatever you find online). bring Keys, paperwork, and try to leave the emotion out of it. They have had way more than 30 total days.

You’re handling it better than most, including me.

Yeah I get you. Covid has become, and will be for years, the greatest cop-out ever for businesses.

And I've seen dirt mountain. The ongoing launch delays make me glad everyday that I cancelled my week one Bronco reservation and bought a Ranger last year.

I was just pointing out that Dana made the axle, Dana is suppling the replacement, you're considering replacing the Ranger with a Jeep, and Jeeps are full of Dana axles.

Hope you get her back soon. I've got a feeling you'll enjoy her once more when you do.

Wow. I would be pissed to be w/o my truck for 2 months. I too had a front pass side axle go bad in August. Had taken my truck in for a routine oil change and they discovered the axle was bad when they did the tire rotation inspection. Obviously, truck could not be driven. They found a replacement axle and had it fixed and the truck back to me in 3 days. Truck is 2019 FX4 and I have 14,000 miles on the clock. Glad it was only 3 days. I live in FL and I was in CT for a wedding. The dealer, Colonial Ford of Danbury, did an outstanding job getting me back on the road.
