Glad that one didn't end up at Rudy's Roadkill Cafe ?Yesterday on the way to work, avoided a cow charging up the road. Thankfully, he went around me!(Sorry, not the best pic)

Did you remember to check the serial number from the yellow tag hanging from the ear and then report it to 911 so that the owner can be informed that his/hers cow is running loose and he/she should go and pick it up?Yesterday on the way to work, avoided a cow charging up the road. No. That is a cut through road between pastures. There is unfortunately a couple of cows out 2-3 times a week. This is an ongoing thing. Although I could have called 911, I never thought to wrangle the cow by the neck to look at his ear tag (not that I noticed it)![]()
Bumper BBQ at Rudy's...Freezer Beef !!!

Every cow carries an yellow tag on both ears pretty much everywhere in western world. That's for identification purposes and data behind the tag contains owner, family history, medical records, milk quality, ect. depending on the country. It's just there to identify the particular production unit and keep the food chain clean. Some countries have it for sheep, pig and what else.No. That is a cut through road between pastures. In future it's most likely going to be RFID, after which is non-human readable. Probably ends up like dog chips. But for now, it's the yellow tabs.
And you don't need to wrangle it.. just walk around and she'll most likely comes to you to see if you're carrying any goodies for her. If it's a bull, don't go near it unless it knows you![]()
Thank you!
That cow has no idea how lucky he was that yellow line was on the road and not marking your parking spot.Yesterday on the way to work, avoided a cow charging up the road. Thankfully, he went around me!(Sorry, not the best pic)

I once had a bull chase me through a cornfield as I ran for my life! For those who have never had the pleasure of running through a cornfield, let’s just say…it ain’t fun.
