My 2020 XLT didn't have the tow package so I installed the OEM hitch. Now I have the original bumper and wondering what everyone else that has done the replacement did with the old bumper.

Well its like the original wiring with the 4 pin connector. I added the factory 7 pin plug and connector. Well the original wiring..........hard to sell what everyone at minimum has. Sell for scrap metal? Or when you sell the truck. Take the parts you bought off, put the original back on, then sell the upgraded parts to someone like me, who didn't start off with a tow package and looking to add it.

The OEM hitch replaces the entire bumper? Looked on the Ford web site and it states it just gets mounted to the underside of the OEM bumper. Is this something different? I bought an aftermarket hitch and it mounted under the OEM bumper.

AFAIK the aftermarket hitch mounts lower than the OEM hitch. AFAIK the OEM bumper has a notch in it so the OEM hitch mounts higher than aftermarket.

The OP asked what to do with the old bumper. My question is why did he take off and replace the old bumper just to add a hitch.. That's if I read / or he stated it correctly. I installed an aftermarket one. Installs the same as the OEM. and can hardly see it except for the receiver itself as you do the OEM.

The OEM hitch replaces the entire rear bumper sub frame with a new one. Most of the OEM bumper trim is reused except for a couple pieces in the center that allows for the higher hitch. The aftermarket hitches just bolt on below the current bumper sub frame and trim.
