The wing would add some down force to help control all that extra HP that the damper adds. After all you have to be able to get that HP to the road.:LOL:

I must confess when I set it up there I thought for a moment it looked kind of cool, in an odd sort of way.
Hi Gregg,

I have told this before but here is a back story again. I took two trucks to the Lockheed windtunnel to see if we could improve the SCCA Road Racing Rangers fielded by Steve Saleen. Steve was in the Endurance Racing with his Saleen Mustangs. So Steve asked me to use my precious wind tunnel time to also do his Mustang. I was paying $20,000 for 3 hours. I said no dice... So he complained to Lee M. of SVO, Manager of North American Racing. So Lee calls me. I listened and finally concluded that Ford Car Engineering was pathetic in any support. So I agreed that if the Saleen Mustang got there in time we would slot it at the end if there was any opportunity. We learned quite a bit about the Ranger and pick ups in general, detailed in another thread...so we put this Saleen Mustang in the tunnel. On the Rear Deck was this gianormous upturned rear spoiler. Downforce galore?....Nope...it produced 200 lbs of lift. Steve was crushed, but the wind tunnel numbers do not lie.... Since we had the time...we installed a wickerbill out of cardboard. We got success to the tune of about 100lb of down force. Don't know what a Wickerbill is???? Gurney Flap??? It is a flat piece of metal at the trailing edge of the spoiler or wing...produces down force where lift would be the result.

In Indy car....there was a time when the Wick was used as a tuning device on a pit stop...much to our bane as wicks and their wick lock were problematic and we had to deal with cars throwing wicks onto the track and for us to have dodge them in some cases...

Okay....Time for a Scotch...

The wing came with a bolt on Gurney flap. It had a paper that said Track Use only. I hope mine doesn't add any lift.

I remember the wicker bills in Indy cars. They slid into a slot in the wing. I once saw a team have the opposite problem. It got stuck in there when they tried to remove it. Solution? Saws all to the wing.

I have the Scott Drake wicker on my mustang. The wicker is clear lexan. I will admit, in my case, it's likely more show than go. There is something about them that looks damn cool, though. I have it adjusted down at the moment. I don't know, maybe I should jack it up and play around with it and see if it makes any real difference. I doubt in my case it would be noticeable.

Side note: our local dealer has a new mach in the same color scheme as yours. Word is, they special ordered it for a customer, but ordered it incorrectly (option wise). He refused delivery.

Hey Jake,
Nice looking Mustang. Like you, I doubt mine will see any track time. My wing is the same one that comes with the optional Handling Package. There were some other things on the HP that I didn't want, like the cup 2 tires, and the $3500 extra. It was cheeper to add the wing.

I got a bedrug mat a few days ago, yet to install. Just ordered some other minor things like rear wethertech liner (already have the fronts). Some cupholder heros, a center console tray and side trays I saw on the forums somewhere. They slid in beside the seat to provide some additional storage. Oh, and a little trash receptacle, just because. Impulse buy. Alcohol is not your friend.

I got a new SUV car cover cause my old truck cover didn't quite fit properly anymore since my truck is more SUV / VAN shaped now.

Well I have to send this back. Apparently their idea of SUV sized (dimensions listed) must equate to a Suzuki Mini-truck cause once I put my nice new cover on it looked like a fat chick wearing a tube top. Yea the length was good, but it only went down to about the door handles height wise.

I guess I am going to have to order one made for a Ford Transit van or a Class B RV... which about doubles the price tag. =/

Bought this small shovel which is also a multi tool as part as my recovery gear and would be good for hiking or camping. I was very surprised how heavy duty it is and well made for $28.00. It's nice and compact and will fit under the seat. If you use all the extensions it opens to 37.6"'
