Did you know....that the front prop shaft rotates much faster than the rear? Things you don't notice unless you have the right view... ?

view1.JPG

Installed my third rear facing underbody camera today...

view2.JPG

Need to work out how to position the front camera farther back in X so I can get a broader view like the rear cam...

view3.JPG

Yes, I checked the passenger seating and the Mrs will have plenty of room to move around...I needed to keep the monitors low and away from the air bag area so there aren't much more option...be nice if one switched monitor could do the job...but having all 3 simultaneous views is also a plus...

How many screens you got going on in there? It would've been a lot cheaper just buying a Bronco with the 360 cameras than the mission control you have in there. :giggle:

I would be very very surprised if the front and rear driveshafts rotated at different speeds. Given cameras and angles it may look like it, but there's 3.73 gears in both diffs, so there's no way those shafts are out of sync. It's possible when in 2wd and the front is technically unpowered, but not when the transfer case is engaged.

So here we have the new alttext crash syndrome distraction in its infancy and the brainiac krell-boy inventor explains (easily) how crashing will happen!?

I've already beaten the odds against you all... I have at least twice as many miles in this rig as most others and did it WITHOUT looking outside ? ?

I don't know what it's doing but there sure seems to be a distinct difference in the rotational speed of the shafts...could be a optical illusion tho...

Life's too short to be waiting in line for Bronco...besides, I prefer DIY as it spreads the cost out...?

Hi Sid,

Hmmm.... When I first hired into Ford in 1973, I was put in charge of coordinating the build of All Wheel Drive F150 4x4 prototypes. We had a rear axle of 4.11 and a front axle of 4.10. Not much but by design it kept the driveline slop tight. It was done purposely. I wonder if something similar is happening here...but I doubt it would be visual. It would be done in the transfer case since the ratios front to back are the same.... JMO.

True, with all those lights/screens I'd need a second mortgage. lol Heck with all the delays by the time I get my Bronco I might be to old to drive anymore. ?

Hi Phil...not sure what I'm seeing but I noticed the rotation of the white factory labels on the shafts are spinning at different rate...the rear being noticeably slower than the front...
