Ok since my 2020 fx4 is in the shop, they gave me a 2021 xlt. It rides better is significantly quitter, it even asks you to check the back seats. There's almost no noise from the hpfp and the back end feels much more stable. So the question is what has changed?

Show us under the hood please. I want to see if it has the Bronco's high pressure fuel pump cover.

That build of Sync is actually older than what a lot of us have on our 2019s. I wonder what triggers that rear seat check..

I had a small lunch box on it.

Oh interesting. When my kiddo is in the back I don't get anything like that in my 2019. Maybe there are new occupancy sensors or something back there?

LT's are available as a separate option with or without the FX4 package, so it is possible the OP has LT's. Ordered mine as an XL STX Special Edition which has 265/65 R18 OWL's. I don't know what brand or model, I'll read 'em when the truck comes in ETA May 15th.
Yup. LTs are 250 extra. Hopefully I won't regret getting them when the truck comes in early may.

They swap the loaners out an sell them before that so they don't depreciate any more.
Right. I bought my 2020 that was a loaner/demo. Only had 1,000 miles on it but took the price down a few thousand.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I have absolutely zero plans to put an exhaust on this truck. Maybe if it was a Raptor.

Sports cars, motorcycles, ect I'm all for sensible exhausts. I hate aftermarket exhausts on trucks

I wouldn’t think the 18s are smoother. The 17’s have more rubber to absorb the road. (OD is the same).

that's what I was thinking. A/T tires can ride kind of rough.
But its 17 vs 18's.
wheel size would be the strongest factor given two otherwise identical tires, but if the tires are different it's not. think about how you can switch tires on the same wheels and get a dramatically different ride.
