I wish I was getting out an about in y truck to drive some trails and stuff, but I just haven't had time. :( I did get to use my truck this weekend though! First thing I got to do was deliver a helmet to my old roommate and college buddy. He had COVID-19 and was in the hospital for 44 days. 32 of those days, he was in an induced coma because of complications. One of my old college buddies bought him a replica team helmet, and sent it all around for us to autograph and I was the last stop, so I delivered it to his wife. Mail travels slow, and he's now recovered and back to work! But it was cool being able to deliver that to his wife.

After that I went to Home Depot with my wife and loaded up with stuff she needed for her vegetable garden! Man, I need to install my add-a-leaf so don't get the Carolina Squats anymore! LOL

Too much weight, not enough rear suspension!

I need those work hours!?
Don’t we all‼
Ha! Full disclosure - I've been working from home since the 'rona kickoff.
Full time, so I stumble down the stairs at 7am, and I'm at work. Luckily, I keep the coffee bar well stocked (that's a whole other hobby).
I stop at the office once a week for an hour or 2.

Nothing too exciting, ran a few errands and brought the camper home from storage. Now to get it de-winterized and ready for our cross country trip.

Took a trip to Amelia Island, Savannah, and Charleston. Great weather all around.

Nice truck, was always partial to white, this HPR was a crazy impulse! Hey, we are heading to Charleston on Sunday for a couple days (never been) , then to FL. I'll have a good chance to check fuel mileage, round trip should be 2400 miles, + or -...

Great! Hope you catch some great weather like I did. The homes in the Historic area of Charleston are absolutely gorgeous. Visiting patriots point to visit the USS Yorktown was also an amazing part. If you want to visit Fort Sumter, start looking online now. I made the mistake of not booking ahead of time and the day I was there they were sold out.

It was a productive day and the Ranger got to play a part in it.

This morning I loaded up a bunch of tools and went to a piece of property that I inherited from Dad in 2019. I had to help a friend of Dad get two out of three cars moved to be trailered away at a later date. He had purchased them from Dad before he passed away.

On the way there, I stopped along a road that I had stopped on back in 1988 to make a picture of my '86 Ranger. Today I made the "now" picture.

Then...

Now...

IMG_20210407_094548104~2.jpg

I didn't make pictures during the removal process because I was wearing rubber gloves and Mechanix gloves. Didn't want to scratch up the screen on the phone.

We pulled a '66 Convertible out of this old building.

In the mid 1980s, Dad traded a beautiful running and driving '69 Buick Riviera for this. (Facepalm, lol)

And we put a rear end under this one pictured below to get it movable. The front drums were seized. We gave up trying to break them loose and just drug it to the property line. We were using an old 90's era Chevy truck to do all the hard work. The Ranger would have gotten scratched all to #%*! If we had used it in that jungle.

This one is going to be a parts donor for the convertible.

Dad's friend is in his 70's and I'm in my early 50's That man is a workhorse. :O I couldn't keep up with him.

We go back in a few weeks to get one more moved to the property line. (A '65 Hardtop) Once that is done, the property goes up for sale.

The Trek Step got used for the first time today. It comes in very handy for this old man with two different back injuries.

P.S. I brought this old Model A wheel home to use as yard art.

I went to the store today. As I was putting my groceries in my truck a very friendly lady approached me and asked me about my Ranger. She told me her son was looking for a new truck so she was curious about mine. I spent probably 5 minutes talking to her about it, what I liked and what I didn't and letting her look inside. She was really appreciative that I took the time and she seemed to really like my Ranger. So maybe she will convince her son to get one or at least take one for a test drive. :)

This has happened to me a few times now that someone has approached me curious about the new Ranger. It's always nice when people want to know about it and I like giving my honest review.

Driving to work this morning in Natasha minding my own business center lane and this girl pulls up beside me in the right lane. I look over and she looking at the truck with a nodding head and a look of approval. Then makes eye contact with me and I see her mouth. “Oh ya baby”

That made my day!
