I opened the gas door on a Lariat yesterday, there was no remote release. Just had to push in on the door and it opened.

Did you try that when the vehicle was locked? As the central locking on the fuel cap only unlocks the flap it does not open it, once unlocked push to open.
It does not pop open with the central locking otherwise it would open every time you unlock the doors ;o)

Are you saying it controls the little door in the filler neck?

Interesting. Where is the switch? Any Lariat owners want to take a photo? I don't ever recall hearing about this before.

I just went out to my locked truck and pushed on the gas door and it opens up just fine, does not lock with doors.

I have heard the auto folding mirrors can be accomplished with FORscan, not confirmed on the Ranger yet though.

But if the doors are locked does that lock the flap in the fuel filler neck?

Have you seen any of those "spreadsheets" for a Ranger like they have for the F-150's? You need those for the FORscan tools to know what values to change at what addresses

I can confirm actually. Mine won’t open with the truck locked.
I imagine it's more of the fuel door wont open to expose the capless filler vs the capless filler will not accept a pump handle.

My brother and I both thought we saw it.....surprised me but we could be wrong....need a Lariat owner to chime in...
Fuel door does not lock. There is no way it can lock. The hinge is what keeps the fuel door shut. You can actually open the fuel door without pushing on it if you have fingernails long enough to slip beneath the edge of it. When you push on the door, there is a small spring loaded pin that releases and pushes the door out so it is easy to open.
