2 guys on GFC forum had december 2020 build dates and they got put after the ranger builds with a solid june 2021 build dates camper number 1080 and 1088 for gladiators. they really got boned
Are those the guys who got pushed to the Version 2? Or the ones who are whining that they didn't get the V2, but got the V1 at the cutoff?

either way, they are just whining. I can uderstand why GFC did that. They are taking the orders they have now and busting them all out so they don't have to keep changing over from model to model. Set up time is wasted time. Its not efficient if one has to keep changing production setup after every camper build. I'm sure the line will get faster as small improvements to efficiencies are made as everyone gets experience with the new processes.

That's a long time to wait when you're trying to actually camp.

As much as I'd love a GFC too many factors make it unfeasible for me. I Just ordered a Leer topper and plan on using that.

If your product has a year lead time...maybe it's time to ramp up? I mean that's great news for any new start up but they've been in business for a few years and customers are not going to hold out on such a long wait list...there're other options and if I were them, I'd increase capacity...2-3 month wait yes but 12+? Someone else will replicate the GFC with faster delivery and they'll loose their niche market...

Thanks for the link...another cool alternative...my question is...WHY ARE 99.99% OF CAMPING STUFF coming from the NW?!! Shipping is crazy expensive and driving there is a better alternative but half the trip would be without a camper lol...
because, thankfully, that's were the hippies are

My experience with dampers, lifts, etc is they dont last very long and cost too much to repl. My ARE door lifts are inop after 1 1/2 years, they are still under warranty but someday they wont be.

Make your own!

I've been inching towards completion. I'll post a build thread once it's done:

I thought about it but I can't weld. I would have learned how and finished my camper by now though... for a lot less than what I paid. Please start the thread. What's your plan for the tent material?

GFC does stand behind their product with lifetime transferable warranty and ships out struts when they stop strutting

Replacement lift struts can be found for under $20 all over. As long as the collapse/expanded and ball diameter match, you're good to go!

This looks like a great project. I’m very interested in seeing how it comes together.

Can you mount those struts on the inside of the frame? It will give the exterior a sleeker look and the struts will likely last longer.
