For most of us who already have our Ranger, this information is not a big deal. For those looking to order or on the fence of buying a Ranger you might want to consider this in your calculations. The pinch point in demand comes through Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CO (TSMC). Demand for chips soared 50% due to the pandemic as many folks upgraded computers to work from home. Auto manufactures incorporate JIT (Just In Time) inventory practices and thus can get caught flat footed when an unexpected shortage occurs. The Ford plants in Kentucky (Escape) and one in Germany (Focus) are currently idled. Just FYI
