My leftover 2019 had a drop-in bed liner already installed. Not a fan at all. My spray-in liner is still a couple of mods down the list so the drop-in is temporary.
Anyhoo, the instructions for the swing out storage box I got with my FordPass points say I might have to trim the plastic bed liner a little. After trimming a little, then a little more, then a little more I was getting weary of taking the damn liner in and out of the bed to work on.
What you see is the liner “trimmed a little” so the swing out box will function properly. (It is not pretty I know)

Sir, can I trouble you for the dimensions of that case and the distance between the lower edge of the bed rail and the top of the case? I'm getting a Diamondback cover that has hold-down clamps, as well as locking rods and support struts, that may be an interference issue. Thanks!

The length at it's longest is 30". The top is 3 1/2" below the lowest lip of the bed rail.
Hope this helps.

(Another great quote from a great movie there!)

I took the liberty of sending your photo to Diamondback so they could judge the clearance issue themselves. Your art will now be celebrated in their archives. Here's their reply:

"Oh you’ll be more than okay with these. That’s a great shot and good to know for the future for me.

Thanks for that!

Bringing up an old thread, in case there is anyone that is staying clear of the bedliner or swing boxes because of the "trimming" required.

I installed my boxes with very minimal cutting.
First, I cut the mount so I just had the two end (mounting) pieces.

Then I trimmed the bedliner just enough so the mount pieces would poke through. What is in the green circles in the picture is all that was needed to cut away. Ignore the empty square hole. I was sniffin' glue and F'd up. I plugged that hole later.

The main reason everyone cuts such a large section from the liner is because the swing-box hits the section I circled in red. There is no reason for the bedliner to stick out like it does there. It's just dead air space behind it, so I took a heat gun to that area and was able to push if back enough for the boxes to fit. It took awhile. About 45min a side and it wasn't the prettiest thing, but the boxes hide it and I was able to keep the liner intact.

Sorry, I don't have a pic of the finished product and I don't have my liner anymore........so you'll just have to take my word for it. :p
