Poll: When shutting off your Ranger do you:

Just for curiosity sake.... myself, I’ve been a proponent of shutting all accessories off, un-plugging USB cords, windows up, headlights off, and even door un-lock before turning the engine off.

To answer your question, I only shit off headlamps...everything else plugged in will be automatically shitted off after a time out...still haven't figured out if it's one or two hours. Door can unlock with engine on or off so no point there. Windows up yes before ignition is shitted off unless you're still on accessory mode. Unplugging USB? Why unless you're removing your phone but you still don't need to do that before shitting your truck off.

Out of curiosity, why are you unplugging your accessories? I'd hate to wear out the usb ports so I don't like plugging/unplugging

Myself, I let the damper lower the tailgate slowly to an a$$ appropriate level where nothing splatters the bumper and allows the truck to use the flush tune to bury the creation with a massive burn out of surface material...

I guess just an old habit of thinking I didn’t want to strain my battery upon startup. Not sure how that really started though.

Good point on the cables though. It’s relatively new to me for having USB ports (do have a ‘17 Escape which has them also). I would have to think that if one goes “bad” from overuse it can’t be that crazy/costly to replace?

Yeah, apparently thread titles cannot be edited after you create it except for mods and the admin.

Not 100% in this vehicle but in my GTI I always turn off ac because the dampers close and help seal off car interior. Intake to AC stays open so it dries reducing mold. I also close Ranger mirrors and after truck is off, push mirror button so the will flip out on restart. Takes longer to get out of the vehicle but I live 6 miles from work, so beat all my coworkers to work or home due to their long commutes.
