Mine installed without removing anything. 15 minutes later and Robert’s your fathers brother.

I had putco and installed ACC so I had to replace it. Went with mountains2metal. Was even easier to install

For the record, I've I stalled the Putco inserts with and without the ACC cutout, and neither time did I have to remove the trim. If you're the least bit careful, those things will flex without bending and you can put them in with minimal effort.
